The next day, Harry called Akio to spread the word of a meeting. Within the next hour or so, hundreds of angels began to fill the basement. Harry, Vinny and I made our way through the crowd to the front of the room.

"Attention!" Harry's voice booms throughout the room, quieting the angels. "Today is day one of our fight. We are forming groups and planning for battle."

Harry found sixteen angels to assist Vinny in the lab. Seven angels will help set up cameras around the woods and the school. Half of the angels went back so no one would get suspicious. The others stayed and help set up.

By nightfall, the classrooms were clean and ready for use, the halls were clear and the school was rigged for any intruders. All of which could be activated by the control center, which also had a clear view of the battlefield.

Most of the angels had gone home but a few stood loitering in the halls. Harry and I walked out, saying goodbye to the few that remained.

"Where's Vinny?" I ask.

"He went home."

I had barely seen Harry all day due to babysitting any children that were at the safe haven. Now that I have the chance to be with him, he isn't himself.

"Harry what's wrong?"

He sighs and furrows his brows. "Something isn't right. I can feel it."

"Are you sick?"

Harry shakes his head, his curls bouncing. "It's a gut feeling. The same feeling I got when I was taken from my mum and dad."

I sigh, wondering what could happen.

Harry drives me home early.

"Goodnight love." Harry kisses me before I hop out of his car. He waits till I am inside until he drives off.

I sprawl out on the bed and sigh. I have school in a few days. I wish Harry still went to school with me. He supposedly graduated last year. Then I thought of something. I don't even know how old Harry is. He looks around my age so I always assumed he was. Could he be one hundred like the other angels?

I decided to ask him tomorrow but right now, I needed to sleep.

**

Bradley was out all night and all this morning. It's not like him to not come home. He didn't even call once. Jack and Peyton were over my grandmother's house. I wasn't going to stay in the house all by myself so I went shopping.

When I came home, Bradley was in the kitchen sitting on the island. He has a fork in his hand, stabbing at the marble countertop. His eyes meet mine and he shows a drunken grin.

"Sammy."

I grab the fork from his hands and toss it in the sink.

"I was playing with that." He hiccups.

"Yeah well right now you need to sleep."

He yawns as I help him off the counter and into his room. As soon as his head hits the pillow, he goes out. I wander into the kitchen and fill up a glass of water and grab two asprins. I set them on his bedside table and pull the covers over him.

There are bags under his eyes, the eyes that were usually blue and full of life. Now they were grey. His warm smile was gone and replaced by a drunken grin.

This wasn't my brother. His happiness had gone with my mom. She took him away from me and I was mad at her for that. I was beyond mad. I was pissed. She took my big brother away from me. And I hated her for that.

- flashback -

"Push me higher Bradley!" I smiled.

"Higher?"

"Higher! Higher! Higher!" I chanted.

Bradley and I laughed as he pushed me on the tire swing we had in the back yard. Suddenly he stopped and ran into the woods. I smiled and hopped off the swing to chase him, my ponytail swinging with every step I took.

He ran out from behind a tree, making me turn around and chase him into the house. My mom stood there talking to a man I've never seen before.

I hid behind my big brother and fisted his red hoodie in my little hands.

My mom was crying. What did that man do to my mommy? Who was he? Why was he here?

My mom turned to us and pulled us into a hug. Bradley and I exchanged glances as he patted my moms back.

"Mommy whats wrong?" he asks.

My mom sniffles before looking up to us. Her eyes are red and puffy. Looking at her like this made me cry. Small tears ran down my rosey red cheeks. She wiped them away and held us an arms length away.

"Daddy's gone."

- end of flashback -

I layed in my bed and thought back to that day. I was only ten when that happened. Bradley was fourteen. That was probably the worst day of my life. Being told your dad is dead is not the easiest thing for a ten year old to cope with.

My dad was my hero. He always played dolls with me and read me books.

My mom had gotten drunk every night since he died. Sometimes she never came home. It scared me to know that Bradley was taking the same path.

The first night my mom really got drunk, Bradley promised me he would never end up like that. I knew it was just to reasure and calm me but I believed him. I felt sick.

He broke his promise.
