When the train came to a stop Charla was the only one who seemed to get off at this station, two or maybe three others had as well but she paid them no heed as she slung her bag over her shoulder and made her way down to the parking lot. She glanced around only to frown, no one was there. "No one's here..." she pulled out the note from her jeans pocket and then looked to her watch. "I'm on time, guess they aren't here yet?" she looked around again seeing how empty the place was. Maybe I should walk? I do have the address so...
"There she is!" a little girl's voice drew her attention. Charla turned to see a young eight year old girl and a man in his mid-thirties walking over to her.
The little girl had medium brown hair that was in two low pigtails as she looked at her with light brown eyes and a smile on her face.
The man had dark brown hair and grey eyes with a slight shadow of a beard starting to show along his jaw line. "Hey there, sorry if we made you wait hope you weren't waiting long."
Charla shook her head. "No it's alright I just arrived here, but I didn't see any cars so I thought I'd might have to walk."
The little girl turned and looked at the man with a scolding expression as she placed her hands on her tiny hips. "I told you we should have parked closer!"
The man laughed. "Right I guess so, sorry about that." he then cleared his throat. "Right, you probably don't remember me, I'm Isaac Liebert you're Father's younger brother."
So he's my uncle then... "So we've met before?"
"We have you were only the height of my knee back then, but man look at you now; can hardly recognize you with how tall you are."
Charla smiled. "Yeah that'd probably be why, it's nice to meet you again Uncle."
"Same here and this is my daughter Nina."
"Hi!" she said with a little wave and a happy smile. "I like your blonde hair, it's so wavy."
Charla went a bit closer and crouched down to her level. "Wanna touch it?"
"Really?" when Charla nodded the little girl reached out and touched her blonde wavy hair. "Wow it's so soft!"
Isaac laughed. "You seem to be good with kids."
"I used to work at a daycare before coming here," she said as she stood. "So getting thing like kids asking to touch my hair is nothing new to me," she laughed a bit. "Though it makes me wonder if the kids liked me only for my hair."
Isaac sobered slightly. "Hey, I know you're not really here out of your own volition, sorry that you had to come here because of recent circumstances."
She glanced off to the side for a moment seeing a newspaper sign read in large print that a killer was still on the loose before shaking her head. "No it's alright; it's not your fault. Besides my Dad just worries way more then he should."
"He just wants you to be safe."
"I know."
"Anyway, you're probably hungry and tired from the train ride, there's a really good burger restaurant and Nina and I were thinking of taking you there as house warming gift for you since you'll be living with us until this blows over..."
"If it ever does..." Charla couldn't help but add in her head. "What's the place called?"
"Sunrise Burger!" Nina chimed in. "They have really good food there, it and the big supermarket opened up recently.
