Everybody knows that changed.
Popularity is a cruel thing. If you get too into it, you can forget the ones who you truly love, the ones who really care of you.
Sadly, that happened to MinHo. But no matter what, he always tried to approach TaeMin, because he missed him. When they talked or spent time with each other was rare, because it was never the same.
The aren't the best friends they once were.
They aren't those who once were so in love.
They aren't TaeMin and MinHo anymore.
Now is just TaeMin.
Just MinHo.
But TaeMin is just so good. He isn't a spiteful person. He loved to have friends, and if someone comes back to him, he will always receive them with open arms.
At the cemetery, TaeMin saw many students from his school. Since DongHae was good in sports and still loved that high school where he graduated three years ago, he volunteered to help with soccer. That was the reason of everyone knowing him.
But fuck. TaeMin has to deal with everyone's stares. Because people are cruel and they want to see him cry, because they know TaeMin was his cousin. The won't stop looking at him, just because they want to see if he cries or not.
And TaeMin thought he could be himself and cry his eyes out with his family and close friends...
He couldn't even cry in with his family, because he knows people will say it was a show.
But fuck. It's TaeMin's cousin who died. He's hurt, he has the right to cry.
But he won't, he won't give them the pleasure to see him cry and see his weak side.
"DongHae once was an outstanding boy..."
TaeMin said he wouldn't cry, but those speeches were hard to listen. When he less wanted to remember, his grandfather had to take the mic. Saying how his grandson was. Saying how he always helped out. Saying how proud he looked when he won the soccer game. Saying how proud he was of his grandson. Adding later that he was proud of all his grandsons too. He said to his grandsons, which were SungMin, JinKi and himself, he told them to not worry.
"Because DongHae was too good for this world."
Without even knowing, TaeMin found himself fighting against the tears that threatened to fall. His eyes are now red, because of the salty tears that he won't let fall. He looked away, in attempt to distract himself. But it didn't work. SungMin, the eldest of the cousins, was emotionless. The way his eyes lost their charm was terrifying. He was in complete denial. He was upset with everyone, with the world. Because why him? Why take the life of the one who wants to live more? Why his baby brother had to die first? JinKi, TaeMin's older brother, was taking it calm, but behind the gentle smile you could see the pain he was hiding. Because JinKi was always like that, he would always say, when everyone else is having a hard time, why am I crying? When I can be comforting their crying hearts?
TaeMin didn't want to shed tears. DongHae wasn't the kind of guy to be crying around, TaeMin didn't want to disappoint his cousin.
"TaeMin?" TaeMin didn't know if he should feel relief, because maybe this will drive away his thoughts, or awkwardness, because Choi MinHo was speaking to him.
"Are you okay?" MinHo is concerned, because TaeMin looks like he's about to cry and he doesn't remember the last time he saw him with tears in the corner of his eyes. MinHo is mentally begging for him not to cry, because TaeMin isn't meant for crying.
"I-I..." Is TaeMin okay? His cousin died, he wants to cry but there's too many people. Is he really okay?
"I don't want to be here."
"Then let's go."
He didn't know what was happening to him.
He didn't know why he was crying in his arms.
But he missed being with him. It was something he couldn't control anymore.
He was there, trying to console the crying boy who soon calmed down.
"Hey," MinHo has been thinking too much these past weeks. He misses him. He misses him so much that sometimes it's hard to live. He doesn't want to see him crying. He wants to see him happy again. He wants him to be his, again.
"Hmm?"
"Be my TaeMin again, please?"
TaeMin is too good. TaeMin loves people. TaeMin loves MinHo. Yet, he didn't realize how much he needed him.
"TaeMin, you know he loves you." His older cousin teased again.
"Yah! Stop that."
"But he does, seriously! How can you not notice?!"
"DongHae..."
"Stop acting stupid, I can see. I'm not that dumb to not realize that both of you miss each other. Stop denying it. Be happy!"
"..."
"Come on. Take my awesome advice, I will not last a lifetime."
TaeMin couldn't help but cry. He knew.
"I miss you."
"I know. Do you?"
"You don't know how much I do."
