This is about a woman named Nubia Princeton. She is married to Eric Princeton.
He kinda sucks as a husband.
She wants to leave, but just can't bring herself to do it.
He just wants her to herself and won't let her leave.

Nubia didn't go to see her family during thanksgiving.
She accepted the fact that her family just weren't good people.

"Nubia what are you going to do for Christmas if you won't come with me?"
"Giselle I will be fine. Go enjoy your holiday."
"You sure you don't want to come with me."
"Yes I don't want to be a burden on your family."
"You would not- "
"Giselle I'm fine."
"Fine."
"Are you ready for me to drive me to the airport?"
"Yeah."
They got to the airport and Nubia helped Giselle with her bags.
"I will be back January 4th."
"Okay. Have fun. Tell your family I said hi."
"Okay."
They gave each other a hug.
"Nubia are you sure you don't want to come?"
"Yes. Now go before you miss your flight."
"Okay bye."
Nubia drove back to Giselle's house.
She took a shower and when she got out, her phone started to ring.
"Hello?"
"Hey Nubia. How are you?"
"How is this?"
"It's Karen and Henry."
Nubia thought she would never hear from Karen and Henry. They were Eric's parents and even though they hated their son, they loved Nubia.
"Hey. How are you guys?"
"We're fine. We haven't called you in years so we just wanted to see how you were."
"I'm okay."
"Okay. What are you doing for Christmas?"
"Nothing. My friend just left to go see her family."
"Okay. Would you like to come up to Aspen for a week with us at our cabin?"

"Umm are you sure?"
"Yeah just don't bring Eric."
It's not like she was going to anyways.
"Okay."
"We are going to pick you up this Friday."
"Okay that's perfect."
"Okay. What is your address?"
"502 Edison Ave."
"Okay. We'll see you Friday."
"Okay."
She hung up and was shocked.
She had to call Giselle.
"Hey Nubia."
"You will not believe who just called me."
"Who?"
"Eric's parents."
"Shut up! Why?"
"They want me to come to Aspen with them."
"You're going to go?"
"Yeah. Why would I pass up a free trip?"
"You're right. Won't it be awkward? I mean Eric obviously isn't going so..."
"No. His parents have always liked me."
"Okay. I have to go, I'm about to go through security."
"Okay. Call me when you land."
"Bye."
Since it was Wednesday, she decided to start packing now because she would always start packing the day she was leaving.

3 hours later...
Nubia finally finished packing and decided to watch a movie.
She laid down on the couch and started watching 'Forest Gump'.
She fell into a deep sleep an hour into the movie.
Next Day...
Nubia woke up and had to run some errands.
She had to pay a couple of bills and go to the bank to take out some money.
She decided to treat herself to some lunch at her favorite restaurant, Red Lobster.
After about 2 hours, she finished her lunch and she went home.
Nubia always thought it was weird that Eric's parents hated him. Nobody knew why they hated Eric, all everybody knew was that they hated him a lot.
That was why Nubia didn't leave Eric sooner because he never had anybody in his life that loved him as much as she did and that actually cared about him. Even though his parents never gave him up, they were very neglectful and uninvolved in Eric's life.
However, they were very different with John. They were involved and loving.
Nubia could never understand why his parents hated him, but at this point she didn't care.

Karen and Henry came to pick Nubia up and they both were super excited to see her.
"Hey!"
"Hi Mrs. Princeton."
"Sweetheart call me Karen."
Nubia put her 2 bags in their trunk and got in the backseat.
"Hi Mr. Princeton."
"Call me Henry."
"Okay."
30 minutes into the drive, they started asking about Eric and their marriage.
Nubia knew it was going to be a long 3 and a half hour drive.
