The rest of the first two weeks was annoying. I can only describe it as annoying. Well, Nick was annoying. He didn’t like that I was sitting with Julie and Paul during lunch. He had been extremely put out when he found out I wasn’t going to Jackson’s party at all. It had been hard to convince Jack, but I had been smart enough to do it while we were alone and not with the guys. And I made the case that I would be more likely to make friends sitting around watching movies than awkwardly standing around, not wanting to drink or dance with a crowd of people I didn’t know. It had been hard, especially since Jack remained unconvinced that I wouldn’t have a good time, since I had always been the one urging my friends to sneak into clubs even though we were underage back in London. But he had eventually relented, and we shook on it, which meant he couldn’t go back on his word, even when Nick and the guys made a fuss. And every spare second he got, Nick was all over me, touching me in a possessive way, if only an arm draped over my shoulders or on my hip. He had stopped trying to touch me more intimately, but still kept breathing in my ear, making me break out in goosebumps every time. Good goosebumps.

“You know he’s never going to leave you alone, right?” Will asked me. “You might as well get it over with and say yes. No other guy will go date you until you’ve dated Nick, and once he sets his mind to something, there’s no talking him out of it.”

I sighed. It sounded so ridiculous, that I normally would have brushed it aside, but the past two weeks seemed to have proven that Will was telling the truth. From what I’d seen of both Nick and Will. Will didn’t seem like a guy who would go out of his way to lie to me about this.

So I took him at his word and decided that the next time Nick asked me out, I would say yes. I didn’t have to wait too long, as he asked the next day me if I wanted to see a movie on Thursday, two days later. He had moved on from dates in which he just wanted to get me drunk, like Jackson’s party, to actual dates. I suppose that was a good step.

So I said yes and we went to see movie, during which he didn’t even try to pull anything, except holding my hand and drawing circles with his thumb on my hand. After the movie we pulled into the diner that I had gone to with him and Will during the first few days and had something to eat. We actually managed to chat quite easily, I was surprised to notice. He could be really sweet and much less arrogant when he wasn’t around his friends.

“So, how are you still a virgin?” Nick asked curiously.

I arched an eyebrow. “You want me to explain the process of losing one’s virginity and how the absence of that act means that you are still considered a virgin?”

Nick chuckled. “No, I think I get that. I just meant that you’re gorgeous, you don’t necessarily come across as a prude, and you’re not shy, which makes it unlikely that you would still be a virgin. Have you not had a boyfriend before?”

I shrugged. “I’ve had boyfriends. I’m not a prude. I’m still a virgin, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t done other things,” I said purposefully vague, although I saw his eyes light up at the possible implications of that statement. “Just hasn’t happened yet. I don’t consider it to be a big deal either way.”

He seemed to think about that quite a bit. When he dropped me off at home he walked me to the door again, holding my hand again. When we got up the porch steps, he stepped closer and brushed some non-existent hair from my cheek. He was about to kiss me, and I decided to let him. Ultimately, I wanted to kiss him, too. He was unbelievably hot and we had had a good date.

His lips brushed mine, and when he noticed that I wasn’t pulling away, he brought his hand to the back of my neck, pulling me closer and angling my head better to really kiss me properly. I almost melted against him, he was such an incredible kisser. He traced his tongue along my bottom lip and I opened my mouth to deepen the kiss. When he pulled back we were both breathing heavily.

“I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said, seeming a bit dazed. “Can I take you out tomorrow again?”

“Isn’t there some party tomorrow?” I asked.

            “We can blow it off.”

“But you always go to those parties.”

“Yeah, but you don’t like them. And I’d rather spend time with you.”

I smiled and pressed my lips to his again before breaking away and saying, “Sure, let’s do this again tomorrow.”

And all of a sudden, I found myself dating Nick Williams.
