Intro

It all started so long ago.
My father, he had to go.
Onto Heaven he went.
Now I truly understand the meaning of Heaven sent.
My father was my idol.
He was hardly around; He was out preventing houses from burning to the ground.
Mother wasn't there either.
She didn't have a nine to five.
All her efforts were made to keep her dream alive.
A star is who she was destined to be.
Once my father left, a star is who she went off to be.
My grandparents were there to take me away.
California faded away as the Atlanta skyline came into view.
Didn't know what to expect, but I knew it would be something new.
From night one in Atlanta, my grandparents showered me with gifts.
Their time was the most precious one.
They made me feel wanted, loved even.
After a few days of living with them, my life changed forever.
They introduced me to the neighbors daughter.
I was harsh, didn't want to know her.
But she didn't accept my cold shoulder.
She held me tight and wouldn't let go.
"You're my new friend, just so you know."
Twelve years later, friends we still are.
She's been my only friend so far.
Perfect in every way.
Never ugly at any point of the day.
Can't believe I feel this way.
Something isn't right.
Some event will happen to change my life.
An unsettling feeling has settled in my chest.
No, things won't change.
We were meant to be...
We were meant to be friends for eternity.
