Chapter 7

Later...

Riker POV

"No... Don't..." I said, exhausted.

Jeff went to poke my nose again. I grabbed his hand in midair.

"You do it again, and I'll bite it," I said, trying to sound serious.

Jeff just stared at me, probably wondering if he should laugh or be nervous.

I released his hand, and continued watching TV. All of a sudden, Jeff's finger came flying into view, and he poked my nose again. I turned to face him, and he was looking at me with wide eyes.

"Don't make me kill you. Then I wouldn't have a twin anymore," I said, annoyed.

I turned back to the TV.

And then Jeff poked my side, making me flinch.

"AH! What do you want!?" I yelled.

"I'm just bored, Riker."

"Watch the TV!"

"I don't like it."

"How could you not like it?"

"I never watch TV. It's just not interesting to me."

I sighed, shutting the TV off.

"Fine. Let's do something. What do you want to do?"

"Anything other than this."

"Alright... Let's go outside then..."

I led him outside.

"What are we going to do out here?"

"Uh... Climb that tree."

I walked over to it, and Jeff followed me. I got up onto the lowest branch.

"You coming?" I asked.

"I um... No..."

"Why not?"

"I don't climb trees, Riker."

"Why not?"

"Because that's not something a 16 year old should be doing."

"Ok, look, Jeff. That school you were at, brainwashed you so you wouldn't have fun in life. And I'm going to reteach you how to have fun. So grab that branch, and get your butt up here."

Jeff grabbed the branch.

"How am I supposed to get up?"

"Just pull yourself up. Use your legs to help."

Jeff jumped a little, and wrapped his arms and legs around the branch, swaying a little underneath it.

"I don't see how this is possible."

"I'm up here, aren't I?"

"Yeah, but you're Riker. You have experience in being crazy."

I laughed. And then Jeff slipped and fell flat on his back. I jumped down as he started coughing.

"Oh my god, are you ok?"

I slid my arm behind his back, helping him sit up a little.

"Yeah... It just... knocked... the wind... out of me..." Jeff said, coughing.

"Alright, we'll save tree climbing for another day, then..."

"Duh."

"Can you stand?"
