I groan, and roll over on the other side of the bed. Still replaying what had happened yesterday night. The rain pattering on the window pane, and what Luke thought of me now, kept me awoke.

All I didn't was try to be a good person. I wanted to change Luke.

How could he think I did that?

I liked Luke, a lot. I took up for him when my friends, my closets friends talked shit about him.

I was willing to give up my friendship for him.

I liked a guy who hated me as much as he hated everyone else.

I kick the covers off my body, and head down stairs to fix some ice cream.

Anxious to veiw the outside world, I open the front door.

"Luke! ?" I scream. He slowly turns his head towards me.

His eyes looks into mine for awhile, before looking back down.

"I feel awful about what I said", he says.

He runs his hands through his damp curly hair. "I'm sorry"

He gets up, and begans to walk away.

"Wait!" I scream after him.

"Would you care to join me for Ice cream?" I ask with a smile.

He shruggs his slouched shoulders.

"C'mon, you can never turn down ice cream. Plus, your soaking,"

He smiles bearly, and joins me.

I come back down stairs, with my Dads jeans, and plain grey t-shirt for Luke, and a towel.

He goes into the bathroom to change.

While hes changing, I grab two bowls out of the cabniets, and spoons.

I open the freezer for the ice cream, and scoop them into our bowls.

I sit in top of the counter, already eating the delicious ice cream.

I hear the bathroom door open, and Luke starts jogging down the stairs.

On the last step, he jumps down hard, and chuckles.

He joins me on the counter eating our ice cream.

"What's that for?" He asks pointing behind me. I turn around, and look at the birthday hat.

"You use it on your birthday silly. Have'nt you had a birthday party!" I laugh.

Luke looks down at his ice cream, and brings it to his mouth. He wasn't laughing.

"You haven't?" I ask.

He shakes his head.

"Why not?" I ask frozen.

He swallows his Ice cream, and looks back up at me.

"When my mom died, no one had my birth certificat... So no one knew when my birthday was", he explains.

"I'm sorry", I whisper.

I didn't know I was fumbling with the angel necklace around my neck.

I smiled as I had an idea.

"I know when", I say.

"Really?" His eyes widen like a little kid.

"Yup. Today", I say un-hooking the necklace.

I reach over the counter and snap the necklace around his neck.

I rest my hands on his shoulders.

"Happy birthday Luke", I whisper in his ear.

I climb of the counter, and into the refrigerator. I grab the birthday cake, and sit it on the counter.

"Why do you have a birthday cake?" He questions.

"My birthday was yesterday, but my parents weren't here, so we never celebrated ", I say.

"Sorry.." he whispers.

"No need to be. It doesn't matter."

I take the plastic covering off, and get a lighter and 17 candels out of the drawer.

I light them, and turn off all the lights, and sit back on the counter top.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Luke! Happy Birthday to you!" I sing.

"Make a wish", I whisper. He looks up at me, with glossy eyes, and sniffles.

"It already came true,"
