“Let’s get you to bed.” Megan whispered taking hold of my bag and blanket. I didn’t apologize this time. There was no need.
Rachelle’s POV:
Ferris and Julia came back and told us about Kallum. I think I was the only one who noticed that Sean didn’t seem to mind that Megan went with Kallum. I was contemplating whether or not to have Ginger injure McClane so I could have Vivian to myself.
‘Don’t do that Rachelle… Ginger could permanently scar him for life.’ My conscious warned me. It was right. As skilled as Ginger was, she was deadly went it came to sports. I watched as Vivian and McClane sat side by side on the blanket she’d brought out for them. They were talking with Sean and Bryant about what to do later on to day. I wanted to get some alone time with Vivian like I did last night but I didn’t think she’d be up for another shopping trip.
“If you stare at her any harder you’re bound to go blind.” Laurie said behind me. I turned to face her with a slight blush on my cheeks.
“Am I that obvious?” Grinning Laurie took a seat and bumped my shoulder. Looking to her I tried to wipe the look of longing from my face.
“Just a bit… but to be honest I don’t see it lasting with McClane. He isn’t a one woman kind of guy. Actually he’s never dated anyone longer than three weeks.” She said scooping up some sand letting it filter through her fingers.
“How long have they been together?” I asked not wanting to know the truth.
“Two weeks and six days… if I’m correct about McClane he’ll call it off with Vivian… though I don’t think she’ll mind.” I didn’t want to get too happy and McClane fooled them all and decided to give this relationship with Vivian a chance. I didn’t want to break them up just so I could have her to myself but I wanted her. She reminded me of that innocence you see in children. How the most simple gesture can cause them to illuminate with happiness. She was like that. A simple smile or wink caused her to light up… I wanted her to light up because of me.
“You’re staring again.” Laurie chuckled. I wasn’t even aware I’d turned back to her. Pushing off the ground I turned towards the water.
“I won’t do anything unless I have her permission… I’ll wait as long as I have to… because since the first moment I saw her… I knew she was worth it.”
Day Four: And The Truth Shall Set You Free
Vivian’s POV:
I waited until everyone was busy when I approached McClane. I’d been thinking about this since I met Rachelle. I like McClane… I really do. I’ve been drooling over him since forever. To actually be in the midst of a semi relationship with him is epic. No one thought someone like McClane Crawford would even look my direction. When the girls saw him and I at the prom I got nothing but dirty looks from Katlin’s circle and whispers behind my back. I was so thankful to have found Declan and his friends because without them I wouldn’t have made it the last week of school. After that night he and I clicked. We have so much in common and the chemistry is great but… I don’t see me with with McClane. I see him as a friend… someone I can call when I need to get drunk because I’m having a really crappy day. I wanted to have something more serious with him even before I’d ever met Rachelle. I wanted to fall in love like Declan and have my happily ever after like him but it’s not in my heart. And I have to trust my heart… at least that’s what my mom says.
