A Fading Picture

Frozen in time with no way out
a precious moment set in place
with no regret of what is shown
displaying an unforgettable expression.

Set upon the clouds was beauty without cease.
Descended onto the ground, her preciousness is all I see.
an angel that hasn't disappeared for I wasn't worthy,
even to stand near her so I could no longer stay.
All I could do is watch her and this is all my mind could say:

Her dark eyes sparkled like a distant star through the night.
So, I gazed upon them as if to discover a new light.
Her smile wasn't manifested, but I'm sure a morning sunrise.
Her beauty surpassed the sunshine so I stared like a sunflower.
Her flesh unveiled softness and delicacy I wished to caress.
But that's all that shines into my sight and nothing more.
I tried getting closer, but she didn't let me through.
So I blinked and took a mental presentment of what I could
and appreciated the details of what this picture showed even if criticized
as I walked away.

As my eyes saw the new colors my world was so grey.
The setting was full of wonders when born was the day.
Captivated and astonished by the scene, there was no other way.
I couldn't tell reality from surreal, and so, I thought.
What began as an impression ended up as an emotion
and so I distinguished the difference away from illusion
as I reflected to show what is hidden.
There was no film to fill in the images to remembrance.
And so like a flash I was the moment then oblivion.

A masterpiece of art distinct in nature was a beautiful scenario that would entice.
But only a passing desire that would not fulfill.
Characteristics in which I imply to be nice
was not in all definition what defined the eyes.
The surface is not what matters, but what lies inside.
Even with two eyes I could not see her once.
What I had hoped to see I couldn't cope with any longer.
What I knew was there, I couldn't really be there.
And even if I tried not even later after, but like a last picture I will never get.
So, this picture of what I saw I won't forget.
What was "hey there" is now farewell.
