Apocalypse

I make stardust footprints
In the remainders of our universe
I dance with bare feet
Atop shavings of the sun
My movements trace patterns
In the veil of time and space
Ghosts of me consolidate
Until there is only one
Breathe in empty desolation
Exhale the glitter of the stars
Feel the butterfly kisses of the ashes
Falling from planets and moons afar
It is me and only me
Walking without gravity
Floating through this world's debris
Residue fluttering like falling leaves
Endless skies from every angle
Black and gray and dark dark blue
Sparks of burning memories
Turning to embers and losing their hue
With feathers made of galaxies
And a skirt sewn from infinity
I drift away into the abyss
Of shifting shadows and destiny
My eyes contain the constellations
My skin feels of silky sky
My heart pumps out curiosity
As my starry soul itches to fly
Realities knotted up like string
Are tangled about me in colorful coils
Stretching about me in impossible nets
Fragile spun glass that is easily spoiled
The last pinpoints of starry light
Like fairy lights and fireflies
Dance along my line of sight
Before imploding with whispered sighs
The apocalypse has thundered through
With a chorus of dying memories
It left behind corpses and empty culture
And peace and quiet to last centuries
