She pulls back
The three words that claw
At the tip of her tongue:
Her biggest flaw,
She loves too quick
Her love's too young
To be said aloud
And made real.
Her ears dodge heart's whispers-
Murmuring, insistent sounds
Of all that could be and couldn't;
Her heart's been dealt
To him and she waits
For it to be returned.
