Hands

Many a summers we'd spent together,
Sat beside each other
Hands held together
Glinting white of the diamond
Ring caught in the light of a summer's sun.

Those hands weathered the course of time
Showing days of love through every clime
The two became three pairs
That clutched
Till the little bird left
In search of his own nest

The hands now stay still no more
A rattling tea cup
A testament to time,
Weak ,feeble, wrinkled
Hands that never
lose their grip
Intertwined
fingers that weather;
immortalize time.
