Chapter 39

Shreya Pov

Early morning I started for temple, chirping of birds and cool breeze made me feel fresh. I spent time enjoying nature. When I reached home everyone finished their breakfast. Sad thing is no one waited for me which never happened before. 

After sometime I found everyone getting ready for a movie, I thought someone will inform me but no they were leaving. "Aman! wont you take me with you?" I asked him innocently. "Sorry, no tickets" he said waving his hands. Before I say anything other guys dragged him with them. Even later I found they are avoiding me.

Suchi is getting used to baby's timings, my aunt is not letting me do any work. Night all the gang went for some party. Staying idle make me mad, I started reading a book on my phone. "Had your dinner?" Karthik whispered in my ear. I jumped out of couch, "You scared me" I said punching him. "Come lets have dinner" he pulled me.

He kept talking to me, Now I am feeling better. He said he will be there for me always and now I how true were his words. We settled our bed, he laid his head on headrest "I have work tomorrow, will be back next day. Ok for you?" he asked me. I made a sad face thinking how will I survive alone? "I will try to come soon, its important. I . ." I signaled him to stop. "I will be fine. Just complete your work soon" I said lying on bed. 

"Shreya! Can I . . umm nothing" he stopped asking something. "You can ask me" I said turning towards him. "Can I hold you and sleep for today?" he asked with pleading eyes. There is some unknown  fear and worry in his eyes. I held him and he slept with a frown. This indicates he is really worried about something. 

"Its alright! Everything will be fine" I whispered ruffling his hair. Now his frown is replaced by an innocent smile, he did not open his eyes and slept like a baby. I can see him fighting with me but not like this. 

Even next day all these cousins and my friends continued their routine. Vidhi aunty informed that Ashish went to Delhi. I doubt he is upto something, his actions made me feel so. "Hey Shreya! Where are you lost?" Anokhi flipped her fingers before me. "Just lost in thoughts, When did you come?" . . "Just now" she said and hurried to hospital. Being a doctor is never easy I thought.

I sat in balcony and watched everyone playing in backyard. Suddenly the feeling of loneliness consumed me. ALONE! You are Alone! these words rang in my brain making me dizzy. My heart is so stupid but thanks to my brain it adds some sense to me, just now it did again.

The only people who will be with us however we are, support us and love us unconditionally are our PARENTS! When I have them how can I feel like this and even Karthik is there for me. I took out  my phone and called my Dad. "Hello baby girl! So now you remember this old man" my dad's words made me cry. "How are you Dad?" I managed to say. "What happened dear?" Dad asked with concern. "I miss you, I miss you so much" I said with tears. 

He tried his best to make me feel better and it worked. I did gardening and went to my room. Then I got a phone call which made me run. I informed Yash and started running on road. Finally I stopped before a small house and fell on my knees to get some air. My Dad and Mom were waiting for me at the door. I  jumped on them and hugged showing how much I missed them. "Pleasant surprise dad, Love you so much" I said ignoring my Mom. 

"Its my idea to surprise you" Mom said faking anger. "How mean Mom? you left Akki & Vinni and came here" I taunted her. "They are not kids unlike you" she said pulling my ear. "Now what did I do?" I asked out of shock. "If you miss us this much, how can we stay away" dad took his wife's side. 

Later I explained them everything what happened, I never hide things from them. "You were right dad, filling others life with love I forgot about mine" I said. "I used to tease you dear, being selfless is not wrong. Very few people have it in them" he said patting my head. 

"Shreya you are so calm and composed person I have ever seen. Even your dad is no where compared to you" she gave a teasing smile to him. "I used to be worried thinking how will you express yourself but you always fought for yourself which makes me proud. You never made us regret about any decision we make for you. So always be yourself, we are blessed to have you" she said kissing my cheek.

"I follow what my heart says and forgive me if I ever hurt you" I said. "Now dont be upset, just speak out whatever you want. Everything will be fine in . . may be two days" dad said with confidence. "Ha you are god to say that" mom taunted him. "I am not god but her dad, so I know" he said hugging me.

"I am lucky to have you both. What did I do for you both?" I cursed myself. "You did many, biggest one is suggesting us to adopt Akki & Vinni when their parents died. Now they are our life after you left us" dad stated. "And they are not boring like you, they fight, cry, do drama making me run" mom said. "So I was boring?" I pouted. "You never created mess, you acted more mature than your age. So you were boring" dad pointed making me think why did I not make their life hell.

"Dad am I mannerless and a miser?" I questioned thinking about Shruthi's words. Both of them laughed out loudly holding their stomach. "I am serious" I shouted. 

"You always studied on scholarships and never used my money being independent. Later on you waived your rights on ancestral property, so definitely you are a miser" dad said still laughing.

"When all your friends did love marriage, you made us search groom for you. When we selected one without questioning you accepted. What a mannerless girl you are?" Mom said with a smirk.

My jaw dropped listening to their answers. After a long time I had food cooked by my mom, its just heavenly. I slept in my dad's lap happily and forgot all my worries. Next day I bid them bye and reached Suchi's home before lunch. Little did I know that I have bunch of shocks waiting for me.
