Woah I never thought I could make horse look attractive but here he is, in all his fab gay glory.
I'm upset about it too.
So he was originally a normal horse with an arranged mate (who's a mule) but his looks attracted the attention of a star horse. Yeah, that star is Allicorn.
So they can't be together unless they are both supreme breeds, so Hippocampus wants to become one. Basically he goes to this great dragon who grants wishes and knows magic and she says it will come at a cost. He's like "yeah yeah gimme wish" and then he is turned into half horse, half fish. So he's a star breed, they can be together, but he live in water and Allicorn has wings. Fate's twisted, isn't it?
So this is why they're called Hippocampi.
