The morning sun coming in the windows wakes me up.  I had strange dreams all night, filled with faceless danger and a grey wolf. Not exactly conductive to a good nights sleep. Ugh. I'm not feeling my best this morning.

I drag through my morning barn chores. Usually, being in the barn cheers me up, but it's not working today. It's Saturday and I don't have anything in particular planned.  I don't feel like going into town, Im now afraid that my stalker could be there. But I also don't want to be alone.

Maybe I'll call someone. Hearing another voice on the phone should help. Problem. I only have one friend, and she will not be happy of I wake her up before noon on a Saturday. I'm holding my phone, staring at the very short list of contacts, when another idea hits me.

What I really want is to hear Aedan's voice. It's been less than 24 hours. I won't come off as clingy obsessive chick if I call him this soon, will I? I hesitate. Guys usually don't ever hear from me again after the first date. I don't want to mess this up, and I really don't know the answer.

Deciding to just go for it, I hit the green button. "Hello?" His deep voice answers.

Just hearing his voice sends a thrill across my skin. Oh boy, I've got it bad. "Hi. This is Liz."

"Liz,  I'm glad you called," He sounds genuinely happy to hear from me.

"I just wanted to thank you again for lunch yesterday. I had a really good time." Now that I've got him on the phone, I don't know what to say.

His voice is warm. "I had a great time, too. We should get together again."

Just what I was hoping to hear. "I'd really like that."

"What are you doing today?"

"Nothing much. I have to be home in time to feed the animals tonight, but otherwise, I'm free."

"How about I pick you up in an hour? We'll go see a movie," He sounds excited.

"Ok, that sounds great." I give him my address. "You can't miss it. There's a red barn and white house. There probably will be two horses in the pasture."

"I'll be there in an hour. Bye, Liz."

"Bye." When I hang up I find that I am feeling better already, maybe even a little exhilarated. I run for the stairs.

I've showered, pulled my hair back into a ponytail, and put on my typical minimal makeup. Now I'm standing in front of my closet, trying to decide what to wear. Jeans are a given, I hardly ever wear anything else, before finally decide on a green v neck sweater and a pair of brown boots.

I'm back downstairs with a few minutes to spare. Nervous energy has me pacing my kitchen. Deciding to wait outside, I open the door just in time for a black jeep to pull up.

Aedan jumps out of the driver's side and meets me halfway. He has a huge grin on his face. I find myself smiling back. The world seems to have righted itself, again. I know, corny. "Did you have any trouble finding me?"

"None." He slings an arm around my shoulders good naturedly.  "You look amazing again today."

I can feel myself blushing, time for a subject change. "So, what movie do you want to see?" I'm not very good with getting compliments.

"I had something in mind.  Unless there is one in particular you want to see?"

I have no idea what's out. I usually prefer my books and a night in over solo movie going. "You can pick. I don't know what's in theaters right now."

"Ok, then. Let's go." He walks me to the jeep and holds my door. After I've climbed in, he goes to the drivers side and gets in. Reversing out of my driveway, we go towards town.
