“Surprise.” He whispered in my ear while letting his tongue travel down the shell of it. Looking back I caught his face with my hands and brought his lips to mine. He was hesitant at first. Seconds later he melted into the kiss. Pulling back he motioned for me to go inside. The room was basically white with sky blue and soft pinks throughout. There was a huge canopy bed with lacy curtains around it. The plush carpet felt like heaven to my shoes. Making my way around the room I spotted a mini living area complete with bamboo coffee table and white cotton loveseat and a fifty-two inch flat screen T.V. on the wall. The gauze like curtain covering the French doors stood in front of me. Looking back to Micah I watched him standing there smiling like a loon.

“Pull them back.” He said. Taking the curtains in hand I pulled them back from the doors. My jaw literally hit the floor. It was a private deck leading out to the water. I knew where we were now. He’d driven us to the coast. I could smell the ocean drifting in.

“How… when… how…” Was all I could get out. Coming to me he took my hands in his. We stared at one another for a long time before there was a knock at that the door.

“Go check it out.” He said nodding towards the deck. Turning back to the French doors I opened them wide and stepped out. The water was a greenish blue. It looked warm and inviting but I didn’t want to get wet just yet. I turned to see Micah directing the bellboys with our luggage. When I heard the click of the door I made my way back inside.

“This is beautiful man… “ I whispered. Looking up from the tray of strawberries and sparkling cider Micah grinned.

“I wanted to do this for you… for you to know that I will always love you.” He said handing me a crystal flute. Though he finally wore a smile and it reached his eyes I didn’t feel it. What did he mean with that ‘I will always love you’? Taking a sip from my glass I pushed my feet from my shoes into the carpet. It felt like pure cashmere.

“So I wanted to take you on a date tonight… nothing fancy just some grub on the deck… what do you say?” He said taking a seat across from me.  Sipping from my glass again I nodded. He was going to try to distract me from what was really going on. I knew something else was bothering him but if this is how he wants to play it then fine by me.

“Dinner is at eight. Until then what would you like to do?” Finishing off my glass I looked back at the French doors to the glistening greenish blue waters. Laughing Micah stood and took my glass from my fingers.

“Last one in has to put out!” He shouted dashing towards his suitcase. While he searched for his trunks I stripped off my shirt and pants peeling off my socks then ran for the door.

“THAT ISN’T FAIR!” I heard him yell behind me. I could already feel the coolness of the water by the time I saw his shadow over head. When he came up he splashed at me.

“You are such a cheater.” He grumbled. Laughing I swam over to him and kissed him on his nose.

“No… you’re just a sore loser…. Can’t wait for you to… put out” I said wiggling my brows suggestively. His whole upper body turned a beautiful scarlet red. As much as I want to keep myself from laughing I couldn’t keep it contained.

“That is not funny.” He mumbled. Nodding my head I tried to wipe the grin off my face.

“You’re right that is not funny…. It’s hilarious… you should see how red you are… you look like a freakin’ lobster.” I said. Before I knew it I was under water. When he let me back up I was sputtering and coughing my head off. All I saw was him climbing the rope to get back onto the deck.
