~Now~

The damp basement floor caused goosebumps to spiderweb their way across Lizzie's arms.

She pushed herself to her knees and blinked in the darkness.

Hello?

Then the smell hit her; Rotting flesh.

The contents of her stomach threatened to come up.

"Hello?" She asked out loud.

There was no reply.

"Mom?"

She shakily rose to her feet and fumbled for the string of the light.

When she found it, she pulled and the room was flooded with light.

Once her eyes adjusted, dread filled her being. Her arm was coated in blood.

Looking down, she realised that her clothes were soaked with the crimson liquid and tattered. She stumbled backwards and fell against something. Spinning around, her hand rose to her mouth in horror.
