AN: AJ POV again. You're still reading? Oh gosh. I'm sorry.

I sat in the arena, alone. That's all I am now, alone.

The arena was empty, as we are at war. There's no more peace, only war.

I sat alone in my corner with my eyes closed as the day dragged on.

The silence was no longer comforting, yet scary.

I jumped at the sound of a door opening, I was the only one here. I got up and ran to a hiding spot I had planned.

The sound of loud boots echoed through the whole place. Soldiers.

"Check the closet." I heard a man order.

My heart pounded as I heard the footsteps grow closer to me. I kept my eyes closed, preparing for the next breath to be my last.

In my hiding spot, I heard the door squeak as being opened.

I kept my eyes closed fearing of what stood in front of me. But to my surprise, the door shut and a man shouted, "IT'S ALL CLEAR IN HERE! I'LL CHECK THE REST!"

Another person agreed and I heard people exiting the arena.

The door in front of my reopened and I held my breath. I looked up at the soldier standing in front of me. It was a man who I once knew as, Dean Ambrose.

"Dean?" I barely made out of fear.

"AJ." He replied.

Hearing another person's voice was startling, I haven't heard one in weeks.

"You. They got you." I pointed at him.

"What do you mean?"

"You're a soldier..."

"That or I was killed."

I looked down.

"There's not many soldiers anymore." He said breaking the silence.

Hearing that made my throat dry, "That many people died."

"Well it's war."

"Why didn't you let them take me?" I asked not making eye contact.

"I... I just haven't seen someone I knew."

"We barely talked."

"Still, it the first time I've seen an alive face I knew."

I nodded, tears grew in my eyes, I missed the normal world. You don't appreciate it until its gone.

Dean noticed the tears in my eyes and knelt down to level with me.

"It's okay." He said.

"I don't know if that's true anymore. I have nothing."

"Hey I'm here now." You could tell he missed everything too.

I looked up, "Until you need to go."

"I don't need to."

"Dean."

He interrupted me, "AJ. I have nothing too. You need to hold onto everything you have now."

He gave me a hug.

Time Skip

We sat in the ring, "Been awhile since I've been in here." Dean said looking around.

"Me too." I laid my head down on the mat, "I miss it."

"So do I." Dean leaned on the ring post.

"The soldiers you came with here, will they come back for you?"

"Nah, once they leave you they don't come back."

I nodded, "Yeah."

Time Skip Again

Dean and I sat in the corner of a room listening to the radio.

I closed my eyes and tried to relax as much as someone can while war is happening.

I sighed and Dean jumped. I mumbled an apology.

The president came on the radio, he began a speech.

Dean and I listened closely. The speech closed with a sentence that would change everything, "We are now free."

I smiled as I grabbed Dean's hand and ran outside with him.

My first time running outside for the first time in a long time.

Everyone else who survived was outside cheering.

I looked at Dean,

"We're free."
