Xander and Jane became very close. Xander would come and pick up Jane to go to school together everyday that she had school; and he would also wait around for her to finish her classes, so that he could take her home.

On days that she didn't have school, he would come by her house anyway and they would do whatever pleased them: whether it was studying, playing video games, watching movies, or reading books together. Or he would take her away from her house - he just enjoyed being in her company. They would go to the Fully Booked store, or any music store and explore new genres. Their favorite thing to do was sit at their favorite coffee shop, drink coffee and talk about anything.

Each day they spent together, the walls that illustrated their trust for one another continued to grow. But every moment they spent together, brought them closer into each other's hearts. Xander felt his heart heal little by little every time he was with Jane. Jane started to resemble her old self again. The Jane that was happy in everything that she did, the Jane that believed in love - and her family saw that change in her.

For the first time ever since she arrived in the Philippines, Jane and her grandparents ate dinner together at the dinning table.

"I'm glad you're feeling better today Papa."

"I do feel a lot better now. You know what the best medicine is Anak? Your smile."

"Stop it Papa, you're so corny."

"It's true, you have a beautiful smile. I've missed it since you've been here. I bet it has something to do with Xander. Oh, look there it is again. Such a beautiful smile. So is he courting you Anak?"

"Courting me? Please Papa, we're just friends. And no one really courts people anymore. Tell him Mama."

"Apo. He's been here everyday for the past two and a half weeks. He drives you around, makes sure you're okay, and he takes you out on dates. Apo, I think your Papa is right. And would it be so bad if he's courting you?"

"Mama, I really don't think he's courting me. Even in the States, friends are like that with each other."

"Regardless Anak, I want to meet him."

    "What Papa?"

"Bring him over for dinner tomorrow night."

The rest of the night was absolute torture for Jane. How would she invite him for dinner? How would he react? Would he think that she wants to be more than friends? What if he doesn't want that? What if he never talks to her again? Jane's mind ran with continuous questions before she could fall asleep.
