"Ay Duke"

My eyes widen as I relized this had to be his owner. Which only ment I had underestimate what work I had ahead of me.

Quickly I hopped off of Duke, throwing the rains over his head into my hands, I headed to the gate. The owner started towards us meeting me at the gate. I spotted Jack out of the corner of my eye, he had moved in closer to me and the peppy boy.

I studied Duke's owner as I stood at the gate waiting to welcome him. He was tall but not as talk as Jack, maybe an inch shorter or two. He was built but a gym built body not a natural farmers built. He had simi messy hair but it looked just as good as if it wasn't. He was hot and there was no way around it.

"Are you Duke's owner?" He met me at the gate with a dazzling smile. The smile seemed worn out and used too much. I've seen that small exact smile on too many guys' lips.

"Are you his trainer?" He raised a questioning eyebrow at me. I watched his eyes scan me over before his second eyebrow met his first.

"Yes, do you have a problem with that?" Ok so I wasn't being too friendly. I just felt on guard and slightly pissed. I blame this guy.

"I would never have an issue with a beautiful girl working my horse, but I would hate for you to get hurt" I rolled my eyes at his charmingly deep voice. Unlocking the gate I stepped out to where me and Duke's owner stood face to face.

"May" I streached our my hand which seemed to be the wrorst idea of the year besides getting involved with a cowboy.

"Matt" holding my finger tips in his palm he gently kissed the back of it. Now it was my turn to raise my eyebrows. Snacking my hand away I felt Jack come up next to me.

"I'm Jack, May's..."

"Friend" I sent a glare out of the corner of my eye to Jack. At first he looked confused but then suddenly everything seemed to click into place for him.

"Look May about earlier I..."

"Not now" I hissed before I looked back at Matt. He seemed to be sizing up me and Jack as our argument unfolded infornt of him. Shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the next I put on my fake smile to Matt.

"Come we'll talk about your horse" pulling at Duke's rains I lead him back to the barn with Matt hot on my rear.

"I think Duke's a very well manner horse. I have yet to..."

"What did you expect? To get a young colt with no talent. My horse is going to be the best jumper you'll ever lay eyes on. Just wait and see" Matt propped his feet up on my desk as he leaned back in the chair. Raising an eyebrow at his feet I leaned up against my desk.

"If that's so then why is he not flying over the jumps with ease anymore?" Flicking his foot he dropped them back down to the floor. Matt frowned before he sat up straight again.

"That's what we are paying you for isn't it?" The more this guy talks the farther he go's up on brat meter. Sighing I looked at him in the eye.

"Two things, we? Aren't you just paying me? And two, what got you into jumping?" My second questions made Matt's face go blank as a plank. Stiffening up he looked out our office window before answering me.

"We as in my family. And my dad got me into jumping" his voice stiffened at the word dad but I let it slid.

"Well Matt I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm just going to go over the basics..."

"I'm paying you to fix him not go over basics" Matt stood by the door while I stood at the desk. Wow this guy knew nothing about training.

"To fix an issue you have to find out what made the issue in the first place. Then to find the issue you go back to square one. Eventually you solve it" I stayed calm but for some reasons I felt like exploding into a fit just over this english riding, rich ass, spoiled kid who stood infront of me.

"I'll see you tomorrow sugar" with that Matt winked at me and left the office. Quickly I wanted to say something smart so I followed the new comer out, but I just ended up watching his truck kick up my driveway's gravel.

Leaning up against the barn's door I watched Mr fancy pants leave. It was strange that I wanted to watch him become a dot into the horizon. Even though I knew he was going to be a thorn in my ass I couldn't help but feel excited for working with Duke.

"Soo he's a jackass" I spotted Jack standing next to me looking down the driveway with me.

"He has yet to play with my heart. When he does that he'll be even worst then a jackass" I eyed up Jack to make sure he got the message from my words. With that I turned back into office slamming the door shut behind me. Time for working.
