Let it pour

"Dude I don't even know what's wrong with me. I just get this, like, weird feeling in my stomach. Stop looking at me like that!" Stiles yelled at his best friend.

"You just sound so cliché" Scott giggled.

"Would both of you shut up I am trying to write my essay. Honestly could you be any more like a pair of high school girls?" Isaac rolled his eyes.

"You're just bitter because you've never been in love." Scott teased.

"Woah there buster, I'm not in love with anyone." Stiles remarked.

Scott and Isaac simultaneously raised their eyebrows at each other. They silently decided not to push the matter.

"So how are you and Allison?" Stiles asks, not so subtly changing the subject. He won't admit it but he loves the look his best friend gets on his face when Ally is mentioned. The smirk on Scott's face melts away, replaced with a gushy smile.

"We're good, so good."

"Now who sounds cliché" Isaac speaks up, smirking.

Scott only rolls his eyes at him and chucks the pillow he was laying on at Isaacs head.

Allison watched Lydia, amused, as the red haired girls flew around their dorm room, cleaning everything in sight.

"Would you stop sitting there all high and mighty. You're just the same when Scott comes over, which by the way, seems to be every single night, making me have to sleep at Stiles', not that I'm mad at you about it you guys are adorable I just want to be able to sleep in my own bed once in a while, I mean I practically live at Stiles' now, which is not how I really want to be living my college exper-" Lydia is cut off by Allison tackling her playfully onto her bed. They settle next to each other, both uncontrollably giggling.
"What was that for?" Lydia laughs.

"You were rambling." Allison laughs back, "besides, Jackson might want to be welcomed by an out of breath Lydia, laying on a bed."

Lydia's mouth falls open and she hits Allison on the arm.

"So Saturday night Stiles is coming over at 7 before we all go out to dinner."

"Oh, about that. Lyds, I feel horrible about this but like 2 months ago, before we knew we were supposed to be meeting Jackson, Scott got us tickets to see this awesome band I've never heard of but he absolutely loves so, raincheck?"

Lydia looked a little sad but she gets over or fast enough. There will be other times Ally and Scott can meet her boyfriend.

"Also" Allison giggles, "Scott's staying over tonight."

Lydia bites back a smile and narrows her eyes at Allison. She leaped up from the bed, grabbing her phone and bag and walking out the door.

"Wait where are you going?"

"Have to go meet this girl in my earth science class about an assignment. Be back in an hour tops."

"Then we can go get food?"

"Sure Ally" Lydia grinned, "then we can go get food."

Lydia made her way down the cracked sidewalk, almost taking a right turn to go to Stiles' as if it was muscle memory. She changed direction though, when she remembered the coffee shop she was meeting the girl in was to the left. Clouds started moving in and Lydia wished she would have brought a jacket. It started lightly sprinkling so she jogged the rest of the short distance there, thankful she wore her black hightops instead of anything fancier.

Her assignment partner was already there, latte on the table, highlighter in her mouth as she concentrated on the paper she was reading. Lydia reached up to brush a stray hair from her face and scowled a little, feeling the rain start to cause her hair to curl. She walked over to the brown haired girl and plopped down across from her. They had gotten to know each other one class when the professor never showed. Lydia thought she was outgoing but this girl gave her a run for her money. She had shoulder length brown hair, was very tall, and had big brown eyes. Lydia thought she was very beautiful.

"Hey Malia"

"Oh hey. Your hairs all wet, is it raining?"
Lydia only nodded in response.

"Alright so I was thinking for this, we could just write an essay? I know that's kind of boring but I have a ton of homework in my world studies class so I was hoping you'd be willing to take the easy way out." Lydia proposed.

"Yeah sure. That sounds fine. Beside, you and me together will write a kick ass essay." Malia smiled at Lydia. Malias phone buzzed and she glanced down at the text message.
"Oh hey I gotta run but can we meet up sometime this weekend and get started?"

"Yeah. My boyfriends visiting but I'm sure I can find time."

Malia nodded then hurried out the door. Lydia decided she was ready wet so no sense in waiting for the rain to stop. She exited the coffee shop and ran home, soaking wet. Let it pour, she thought.
***
Lydia currently sat on Stiles' living room floor, listening to Isaac groan about how he hasn't had a date in 3 months.

"I know this girl in my earth science class. Maybe I could set you two up." Lydia offered.

"What's her name?" Isaac asked.

"Malia"

Stiles burst out laughing and Isaac shot a hateful glare towards him.

"Oh Lyds, our buddy Isaac here tried that some time ago and got shot down quicker than anything I've ever seen before." Stiles told her in a burst of giggles.

"This is why I don't hang out with you Stilinski. You only embarrass me. I'm out." Isaac said standing up.

"Ah Isaac I didn't mean it come back." Stiles pleaded, still laughing.

Isaac grinned and flipped him off as he walked out the door.

Lydia and Stiles spent the rest of the night trying to cook spaghetti, and arguing about meaningless things that Stiles would only disagree on just to see Lydia scrunch up her nose while thinking of a reason for why he was wrong. And to see her cheeks redden as she yelled at him because he was 'so stupid for even thinking that'. And to see the crinkles by her eyes when she smiled so wide after a fit of laughter.

"Stiles?" Lydia grumbled sleepily.

"Yeah"

"I have to sleep here again."

"Okay Martin."
