Cameron and I are currently basking in the sun, lying on a soft grass patch somewhere further into the woods. The view was great. Blue fluffy clouds. Birds chirping and flying here and there. Oh and the fresh smell of nature. Perfect.

I laid my head on Cameron's chest. We had gotten closer the past few days. I can't seem to help but think that I would never want to leave him. Yes, it was that bad. Wait, I just remembered that Blake said what Wattpad had was probably false... Maybe I should take this time to ask Cameron about this.

"Hey, Cam. Uh, Blake said that what I had read online wasn't completely right about werewolves. Can you tell me more about them?"

"Yeah, sure. Okay well, werewolves are definitely faster and stronger than humans. They also have advanced healing and senses. Moon goddess doesn't exist though. And we cannot be killed by almost everything, even wolfsbane and silver does not kill us, it only weakens us a little. The only thing that can really kill us is weapons that are spelt by witches. "

"Oh. So, what about witches?"

"Well, witches don't wear capes, neither do they have a green nose or travel to places using a mop like they do in the movies. They are basically humans but they do have magic to cast spells that are deadly and sometimes irreversible. Although, they are generally nice, they hate humans. Other immortals do exist too but they have another place that they live in which requires special dust that must be thrown coupled with a few spells to open the portal. And like Witches, they don't really like humans that's why they don't stay on earth. Only some though, that's why there isn't many packs nor covens on earth."

"Oh..." I nodded whilst slowly processing the information.

We talked about it a little more before deciding to head back home.

Cameron had picked up my hand and interlocked it with his just now when we were walking. I looked up to him once more and asked, "Tell me more about your friends."

"Why do you want to know more about them? Shouldn't you try to know more about me instead?" Cameron stared at me. He seemed a little annoyed.

"Well... I don't need to. I probably know more about you than you know yourself. Plus, I've never had a friend other than Ashley before, so I guess I am kinda curious as to what kind of friends you have."

"Oh really? What's my favourite day then?" Weird question, but okay.

"Obviously Tuesday. Pepperoni pizzas are only served on Tuesdays. And you love 'em."

Cameron seemed shocked and still seemed to be doubting me a little. Why the suspicion though?

"Okay fine."

"Please, would you tell me now? Pretty please, with a cherry on the top! I still have to know, ya know. Since I'm your mate and you're stuck with me for the rest of your life."

"I hate the I'm your mate card. Ugh." Cameron softly grumbled, thinking I didn't hear him.

I unlocked our hands and stopped in front of him. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

Cameron looked like a deer caught in the headlights. "N–Nothing."

"Good. Now c'mon and tell me more about them."

"Well, I have Blake, the very best bestie." Cameron said in a girly tone. I giggled slightly. "We've known each other since we were young, due to our parents being close friends and all. Although we did meet another guy, Luke, in middle school, we became close quickly. It just clicked. We would hang out everyday without fail, sitting by the park chatting or just a simple lunch together. But," Cameron sighed. "Something happened, and I know Blake never forgave me. The three of us used to be so close. But after that happened, Blake lost his other best friend. Just because of what I did. Even though he said that it was okay, I could tell that it wasn't. It was far from okay. He was so close to Luke, always sneaking into his house, sharing secrets with each other. They were practically brothers. So when he left, it was like part of him died. It took him so long to recover."

... And thus his cold demeanour, I see. I took a moment to understand all that, then replied softly, "Do you mind if you'd tell me what had happened?"

Cameron stiffened a little, "I– I guess I could, since you're my mate. I mean, no secrets between us, right?"

I nodded. "No secrets."

"Blake, Luke and I were supposed to be the Alpha, Beta and Gamma respectively. But on the day that Blake was supposed to be passed the Alpha title, I found out that Luke was actually plotting to kill Blake just because he wanted the title. I wasn't thinking straight, I just wanted Blake to know. I couldn't let him die." Cameron let out a deep breath then continued, "Blake's father was in the midst of announcing when I interrupted and told him everything. Blake's father immediately banished Luke and his family from our pack. Apparently, Luke's parents had been planning this ever since Luke was born. They wanted the authority that much."

"I see... But, it's not your fault Cam, if I were you, I'd do that too. I'd – "

"Even though Blake had not said it, I know he still has not forgiven me. He said it doesn't matter. But I know it does. He just cannot accept the fact that Luke would actually betray him and sometimes believed that I had lied to get the beta title, instead of Luke."

I wrapped my arms around Cameron and hugged him as tightly as I could.

"Please stop holding on to this, it's hurting me inside. I don't want to see you carrying this baggage for the rest of your life."

"I'm trying. I'm trying every single day. Every time I think I'm getting better, I'm not. It just keeps getting back to me. And I–"

I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't take him reprimanding himself anymore. So I silenced him with a kiss. Slow, soft and passionate.

"I'll be here for you. Always."

And I meant it.
