Zac and Mimmi had a race to Mako Island. They both started at Zac's house, jumping into the water at the same time, and then growing their tails and swimming as fast as they could.

All mermaids have orange tails, and mermen have blue tails. However, a merman hadn't been seen by the Mako Pod for over two hundred years, due to a massive war between mermen and mermaids. However, the Mako Pod soon learnt that Zac could be trusted. They had only met one other merman apart from Zac: a merman named Erik. Erik had first tried to activate the Merman Chamber, but Zac had been able to stop him. It was this heroic act that helped Zac gain the mermaids trust.

Zac and Mimmi raced to Mako Island, and after a small while, both of them reached the moon pool. Zac was the the first to raise his head above the water. About two seconds later, Mimmi did the same. They both swam gently to the rocks and grabbed gold hold of the ledge.

"I won," Zac grinned, panting slightly.

Mimmi raised her eyebrows. "No, I don't think you did!"

"I was the first to raise my head above the water," Zac told his sister.

"But I entered the moon pool first," Mimmi retorted back.

"Just face the facts, sis," Zac laughed. "I'm better at swimming then you."

"Oh, is that so?" Mimmi joked back. "You think I'm not fast enough?"

"Nobody could beat a merman swimming. I could take you down any time of the day," Zac explained.

Mimmi's eyes shone and she grinned. "Okay, you're on. Last one to get to the Ocean Café buys tonight's drinks."

"I'll beat you easy peasy," Zac laughed.

Mimmi grinned. "We'll see about that."

And the brother and sister dived back into the water and swam back through the underwater entrance.

"You sound amazing," David grinned at Sirena. They had just spent about three hours practising the new songs David had wrote. He played the guitar, and Sirena sang all hour original songs for a small audience in the café.

Sirena smiled, and felt her cheeks go red. "It was you who wrote the song."

"But it's you who's singing it," David smiled. "Do you want a drink to help your throat?"

"That's very kind of you, yes please," Sirena nodded.

David went to the counter to make Sirena and drink, and Sirena went over to Evie, who was leant against the wall, waiting for Ondina, who was in the changing room. Evie was vlooking fairly bored and worn out.

"Has she still not picked a dress?" Sirena asked Evie, nodding to the changing rooms.

Evie sighed and shook her head. "Ondina has tried on nearly ever single dress I have in the shop. I'm running out of ideas!"

Sirena have a little laugh and knocked on the locked changing room door. "Ondina? Are you nearly done?"

It was silent for a few moments, and then Ondina yelled: "Stop pressurising me!! I don't work well under pressure! I can feel your stares from in here!"

"She'll be ready soon," Sirena promised Evie, before heading back over to David.

"If only," Evie sighed. "If only."

Six o'clock came, and it was time for Sirena and David's performance.

"Hi everyone, thank you very much for coming," David said in the microphone. "Now, let's give a big round of applause for Sirena!!"
