My bedroom is bland, lacking in everything I might possibly care about. Lacking in Cambriel. He only left an hour ago, but it feels like a century. I curl under my covers, my face pressed against the hoodie he let me keep, letting the last of his scent seep into my pillow.

My stomach is wound into burning, irreparable knots. My throat seems to have gone on strike, preventing me from speaking without choking up with tears that I can't seem to let go because it feels like a part of me has been amputated.

I fumble against the wall, flipping off the light with the palm of my hand. My room plunges into darkness, and I surround myself with pillows and try imagine it's him lying with me instead.

It just feels cold.
