"i'm sorry, luke," michael said quietly, patting his bandmate's back sympathetically, "but we really need to get to back to the hotel. we have a show later, and you haven't slept since the before plane ride 2 days ago. i have no idea how you're even still awake."

luke was curled in a ball on the uncomfortable hospital waiting room chairs, and he had been since two days earlier, when alexis' doctor told him that she was in a coma. all he could do was wait, and he was not emotionally prepared for it. he hadn't realized how head over heels in love he was with lexi until the doctor told him she was in a coma, and now he felt like he was stuck in this immobilizing trance.

luke shook his head. "i-i'm n-not l-leaving," luke stuttered tiredly. he yawned. "a-lexis ne-eds m-me, mikey."

"she'll be okay for one night, luke," michael whispered, "just trust me."
