The next morning is the same as the last one, I get up early, eat, pack up and we head off into the maze. We run back to the strange place in section 7 and explore it a little more, that is until we see a griever...
Minho and Thomas stare at me, awaiting any instructions or tips, I peep around the corner and see the monstrous creature. My heart skips a beat. Its been a long time since I'd come across one of those ugly, vicious beasts, I take a deep breath and close my eyes, then let my instincts take control.

Thomas POV
Amelia turns around to us, she looks sightly different. Her skin is very pale and you can see red and blue veins going down her arms, her eyes are no longer a fresh dark green colour, now their luminous green, they look toxic and dangerous. Then she tells us to silently climb one of the vines, and we do. Once we reach the top me and Minho share a puzzled look, he must of noticed her change in appearance too, we watch her as she climbs halfway up the wall then looks around the corner again. Then with all her might she swings around landing only a couple of metres from the terrifying griever. It turns to her, puzzled by the unexpected attack, then it revs up its engine and holds its mechanical claw up, clasping the air. The claw reaches for Amelia but she dodges it, I look at Minho and see his muscles tense every time the griever launches itself at her. Amelia gets out her weapon, which has a long blade, and points it at the griever then she runs and leaps grabbing the mechanical monsters claw. Both mine and Minho's eyes fill with terror but Amelia gave us clear instructions to stay up high and we try to follow them, but as every minutes of fighting drags on we both shuffle ever so slightly towards the edge. We observe as Amelia takes a swing and slices off the grievers needle, the creature gives a ear-splitting scream as Amelia throws the needle at it. The griever falls to the ground all its legs and arms swinging out of control, impaling itself, a yellow oil spills out of the creature and covers it fully. Then it stops. The only movement it the yellow oil trickling down the black body of the griever. Me and Minho stare at each other, wondering whether to go down, we look at Amelia for any instructions. We watch as she turns to us with her pale skin and toxic eyes, she clutches her chest and breaths ruggedly, then she collapses to the floor. Me and Minho don't wait a second, we climb down the vines and run to her. Minho leans over and puts own ear to her chest,
"She's still breathing," he gasps "but we better get her back to the glade now!"
I nod and grab her legs while Minho hold her shoulders. We manage to make it back just in time, but we were way to close, when we stepped into the glade the doors began to close. We place Amelia down on the ground, she still looks pale and lifeless. Everyone rushes over and the Med-jacks take her away, Newt goes up to us, scared and confused,
"What the bloody hell happened to her?!" He screams "you where supposed to keep her safe" he then punches Minho in the chest
A couple of gladers have to hold him back and put him in the Slammer, you can see tears streaming down his face making his cheeks red and you can hear the screams from probably miles away. Me and Minho stare at each other and then have an early night. We try to see Amelia but the Med-jacks refuse and say that she's in a state that we don't want to see her in. As I fall asleep a clear image of the hideous, dead griever body hovers in my mind, keeping my up for a few hours.
