i don't want attention

Sammy's POV~

I was walking towards Claire's room and as you guessed Shawn had already left since he had to do something important

I knocked three times on her door and waited for a reply

"DOORS UNLOCKED. It always is" she mumbled at the last part and i chuckled

I twisted the door knob and entered her room and closing it behind me

Her nose was up in a novel which im guessing was her favourite since she always reads it over and over again

"What's up?" i said and she closed her book before speaking

"Come here and i'll tell you what's up." she motioned me to move closer

"Uhh sure..." i slowly walked closer to her

"Closer" she instructed

I moved so close that we were now nose to nose

"W-What's up?" i asked again but this time i felt nervous

The way her soft skin touched mine, it sent electric through my body, butterflies in my stomach and got my mind all messed up. Gosh, i sound like a girl... But it's ok for a boy to feel this way. Right?

"The sky is up" she whispered as if it was her top secret

I chuckled at her dorkiness and pulled back

"What are you doing here?" she placed her book on her nightstand

"Im here to talk" i stated

"Oh. Um, what about?" she asked

"You." i said flatly

"What? Did i do something wrong? Why do you wanna talk about me?" she panicked

"No,no,no. You did absolutely nothing at all" i placed a hand on her shoulder and calmed her down

"What do you wanna know?" her voice sounded distant. It was obvious that she didn't wanna talk about herself. But i wanna know why?

"Something you never told anyone before. " it came out what i wasn't expecting. It sounded like i was pressuring her

"Why do you wanna know my top secret?" she said dryly

"After this fight, it felt like you have been distant. Like we didn't know each other anymore." i explained calmly

"Oh" her eyes softened "Im sorry. It's just that after everything that has been happening right now. Im just really stressed out."

"It's alright..."

"And no. I will not tell you my TOP secret" she added

I nodded and there was a long silence. Not an awkward silence, it was a good kind of silence

"Can i ask you a question?" she broke the silence

"Sure" i nod

She took in a deep breath "Was it easy?"

"What was?" i raised an eyebrow

"Leaving me. Leaving me for that girl, i know we have talked about this before but i cant get it out of my head. I cant stand seeing you with another girl.. That's not me. I know i sound selfish, urgh i wish i didn't say anything" she facepalmed

"You don't sound selfish at all. I would feel the same way. And no it was not easy leaving you. Look, i don't know what came over to me or why i did that but all i know now is that that was the biggest mistake i have ever made. No one could ever replace a girl as amazing as you." i gave her a soft smile

"Actually it's easy to replace me. Im weird. No one wants me. Not even my dad does." she frowned

"Your not weird. Your unique." i pointed out

"What if i don't want to be unique?" she faces me and looks into my eyes as a tear escaped her eye

"Why wouldn't you want to be unique?" i questioned

"I don't want anyone to notice me. I don't want attention" she lookd at her palms

"Why don't you like attention? When we were younger, you told me you wanted to be famous and inspire the young" i reminded

"I was tough back then" she whispers

What does she mean?
