Hours later, the storm had calmed, but the sea was still roiling. Angry gray waves broke on the cliff below a battered bungalow. The sharp rocks below glistened with sea foam, and looked very ominous in the poor light. Heavy clouds obscured the sun, and a swift, biting breeze was blowing. The bungalow creaked and groaned against the wind, but inside was very warm all the same.
Something below the cliff glinted curiously off the rocks, even in the poor light. It stayed for a moment, shining and bright,and then was gone in an instant.
