Chapter 2

Me and Newt are walking through the glade, he's telling me and showing me everything I need to know. "So this is the kitchen, where you'll soon get to eat Frypans famous cooking... Over there is the med-jack, kinda like our hospital... And this is the homestead where we all sleep."

I didn't say much during the tour, because I was taking in every single detail of this place... When I wasn't staring at Newt. I don't know what it is, but I feel like I know him, like we've met before all this. "Hello, anybody in there?" Newt said waving his hand in front of my face chuckling. "Are you even listening to me greenie?" "Of course... *thud* " 'what the hell just happened?' I open my eyes and see an Asian boy that looks around my age staring down at me, taking to long to get up I say, "You mind getting off me stranger?" I asked the boy, he blushes slightly before finally getting off of me and helping me up. "This the greenie?" He asked Newt. "Yep." Newt replied popping the 'p' when he spoke. "But it's a girl." The boy said looking at Newt. Now I'm kinda sick of them talking about me right in front of me, so I had to think of something sassy to say, "Well geez, what gave it away that I was a girl? My hair? My clothes? The way my face has girly features? I need to know 'cause I thought I was hiding it pretty well." I said glaring at the boy and crossing my arms over my chest. He just laughed and said, "I like your attitude, I'm Minho by the way." He said extending his hand for me to shake, so you shook his hand while saying, "I'm (Y/N)." "Cool." He said letting go of my hand, "I gotta go. Later Newt, see ya round greenie." He flashed me a smile then ran away. "I think you actually out sass him a little." Newt said laughing, I smiled at him saying, "ya think?" Then after a moment of silence you both burst out laughing.

That's when I noticed the huge gap in the wall. "What's out there?" I asked nodding at the gap. "Danger." "Danger? That's it?" "No, out there's also the way out, we just have to find it." "Well how long have you been looking?" "Three years." I was shocked when I heard this, and my face said it all. "That long and you're still here?" "It's not as easy as it looks." "How?" "You see greenie, the maze is huge. It changes every night. And it's very dangerous out there." A moment after Newt finished talking I felt a big gush of wind hit me, then the gap in the wall began to close. We watched until the doors were completely closed. "Oh, and the doors close at night. Which is a good thing 'cause it keeps us safe." "Safe from what?" "Greivers." "Do I even want to know what those are?" "No." That's when I heard a bell go off, Newt looked at me then smiled and said, "Time for food greenie, come on I bet you're starving." He put his arm around your shoulder as you walked to get some of 'Frypans famous food'.

Me and Newt go get our food then sit down together. A moment later Minho is sitting on the other side of me, "Hey greenie." He said flashing me a smile before shoving a spoonful of food in his mouth. "Hi Minhoe." I say back before tasting what I think is vegetable soup? I cautiously put a small spoonful in my mouth, and to my surprise it tasted amazing. Newt looked at me and laughed. "I told you it tasted better than it looked." "Now I believe you." You both started laughing, then a boy with curly hair and was kinda chubby sat across from Newt, he appeared to be about 13. Then two other boys sat down next to him. "(Y/N), let me introduce you to Chuck, Winston, and Zart." Newt said to me as he pointed to each one of the boys as he said there names. I have them a half grin and waved to the boys in front of me. "Hi." Chuck said with a lot of enthusiasm.

I noticed some guy at the table in front of us staring at me and it was starting to weird me out. Newt noticed and said, "That's Gally, around here he's known for his smart ass attitude, so watch out for that. He's also the keeper of the builders." "Well why is he looking at me like that?" "Don't know greenie, just ignore it. Come on, I'll show you where you'll be sleeping before the bonfire starts." "'Kay."

You two put your bowls and cups in the kitchen before walking to the homestead and going upstairs. "You'll be sleeping in my room. The gladers haven't seen a girl since they've been sent here so it might be a bad idea for you to sleep down there with them. You don't mind do you?" Newt said going into his bedroom.

'Of course I don't mind! Anything to get closer to you...  Ugh focus (Y/N)!' "No I don't mind, but you don't snore do you?" I asked laughing lightly. "I don't think I do." Newt said smiling at you. 'God that smile truly is to die for.' I smiled back at him before he said, "Come on greenie lets go to the bonfire, you are the guest of honor you know." I nodded my head at him and my smile grew wider as we walked to the bonfire together.
