Casey Mitchell

Cheyenne and I walk down the steps, but as soon as I see Aaron, I get insanely nervous. I stay hidden behind Cheyenne as they talk about how beautiful she looks. Well, it's now or never. I step out from behind Cheyenne, and I blush when the guys just stare at me. Okay, awkward.

I wonder if we gave them boners...

That was completely irrelevant. Back to reality.

"Shall we go," Aaron asks, not taking his eyes off of me. Cue more blushing.

"We shall," I say in a British accent as we leave the house.

Can I sound anymore stupid? Oh my god. Breathe Casey. Just breathe. Everything will be fine. Everything is fine.

We head to separate cars - Cheyenne and Shawn in one, and Aaron and I in another. As we get into the car, I find that an awkward silence has begun to settle. Yay, more time for me to make myself look stupid. Go me!

"Why did Cheyenne tell me to ask you out," Aaron asked.

"Oh, uh," I think hard trying to find an answer. What do I say? "I was kind of bummed out that she had a date, and I didn't. I guess she was trying to make me feel better," I force a laugh.

"You didn't have to say yes though. Why did you?"

"Oh, I-I, well I didn't want me saying n-no make anything awkward i-in our squad," I stutter.

"Right," he chuckles. Grrr, the things this boy does to me.

"You didn't have to ask me to the dance. Why did you," I ask, moving the questions to him.

"Because I like you," he says, point blank before laughing. "Hey, did you know you're a terrible liar?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You stutter when you lie."

Oh. Okay. Well then.

"I wasn't lying! I was just, uhm, I was j-just caught off guard by the random questions," I lie.

"Sure," he chuckles.

"Okay! So what if I like you? It's not that big of a deal," I burst. Oops.

"Oh, so you like me?"

"Maybe," I say as we drive into the school parking lot.

"C'mon, lover girl," he laughs, running to the other side of the car and opening the door for me.

I follow him towards the entrance, and I see Max standing on the sidelines. Wasn't she supposed to be staying home?

Once inside, I see Cheyenne and Shawn conversing with a few friends, so we decide to sit down. I see Max come inside, and her eyes immediately set on something behind me. I follow her gaze to see she's staring at Shawn and Cheyenne. Uh okay?

Aaron and I converse about small things and interests for a while before I see Cheyenne and Shawn walking towards us.

"Hey guys," I say as they take their seats.

"Hey," Cheyenne smiles.

"Did Max seem off to you," I ask.

"Yeah, I'll ask her about it later. It's probably not anything too serious," Cheyenne says, waving her hand.

"Okay," I shrug.

We continue conversing about small, random things before Cheyennes favorite song comes on. Oh boy. Shawn is going to have to dance. Amazingly enough, Cheyenne got him to the dance floor just in time for the lyrics to start.
