Casey Mitchell

After the almost fight, everyone finished their school day, but not without whispers about what Aaron admitted. Everyone wondered if Shawn Mendes actually fell for a girl, or if it was another one of his tricks. I believe it was another one of his tricks, but he's nicer around Cheyenne. Yeah, he flirts with her in his normal manner, but he doesn't want it to he too obvious that he likes her. Aaron kind of ruined that for him though.

After school let out, Cheyenne was too afraid to go home. She wasn't sure if Shawn and Aaron made up and were hanging out after school or not, so she asked if we could hang out at my house. That's why we are sitting on my bed right now, scrolling through our phones.

"Are we going to talk about this," I ask for the hundredth time today.

"What is there to talk about," Cheyenne asks, not looking up from her phone.

"Aaron basically admitted that Shawn likes you, and you're just sitting there like it's nothing! Why," I exclaim, like saying it louder will get the point across.

"It is nothing Casey! If Shawn likes me, that's cool! I'm not going to lie and say that doesn't make me happy, but he's Shawn Mendes, Casey! He's Shawn! He will hurt me if I give him the chance. Aaron was right! Shawn can't stay with a girl for that long, it's impossible! There is nothing to talk about," she huffs.

"But if they said-"

"There is no if they said," she cuts me off.

"Cheyenne, listen to me," I exclaim. "When Shawn and Aaron say that Shawn 'likes' a girl, they say that Shawn thinks she's hot, fuckable, etcetera. This time they actually said like. There's a good chance you're the only girl he actually likes," I try.

She opens her mouth to say something when she gets a text. She rolls her eyes before locking her phone and starting to pack her things.

"Where are you going," I ask.

"Today is my brothers birthday. I have to get him something, and my mom told me to use the $5,000.00 on my emergency credit card to get a dress for the homecoming dance on Friday and to get my brother a present," she says.

"Can I come with," I ask. "I need a dress too. I completely forgot that homecoming is next Friday."

"Well you are my ride," she laughs. "And I'm running for queen, but I highly doubt I'll win," She shrugs.

"You might. Who knows."

Cheyenne shrugs her shoulders as we walk downstairs and to the mall.

---

Once we arrive at the mall, we head into JC Penny's and towards the dresses. Cheyenne takes off a white strapless dress that would end right under butt, so I tell her that the dress isn't the perfect one. I look at a dark blue strapless that falls to the floor, a purple one shoulder stops mid-thigh, green strapless that has tutu sort of thing at and ends above the knee, and a long light blue/light green gown that is gorgeous.

Cheyenne had a black spaghetti strap with a silver belt already attached that would stop about mid-thigh, and a neon blue gown that had a golden belt wrapped around it, and it looked as if the straps twister them wrapped around the bottom half of her neck. It was stunning!

We went to change and obviously it took me longer. We decided on the light blue/light green dress for me, and the neon blue one for her. I then made her go to the shoe section with me to pick out some shoes.

"I'm just wearing my vans because they've already got me into a dress," she said when I tried to get her to pick out something. This girl I swear.

Once I decided on sparkling silver heels, we went to Journeys to get Aaron a few things. I decided to get him a red galaxy Vans On The Wall SnapBack, and a black beanie with a blue puffball, along with pink-ish, purple, and blue tye-dye vans. Cheyenne got him a similar looking SnapBack, dark red beanie with a really fuzzy puffball, and green and neon-ish blue tye-dye vans.

After we left Journeys, we went to Spencer's and got him phone cases. I got him a black phone case with the moon taking up most of the top half, and people walking on the beach. Cheyenne got one with a grey wolf it. We then went to the food court, and we got a large pizza.

"Do you have a date to homecoming," Cheyenne asks as she takes a bite from her pizza.

"No. I want to go with Aaron, but that is never going to happen," I say, forcing a chuckle.

"Why not? You like him, and I'm his sister. I can work something out," she says.

"Like what," I ask curiously.

"Well, the girl he was going to take got in trouble for hitting someone that said Aaron was using her, so he doesn't have a date. I'll tell him your date cancelled, so you need a date. He owes Shawn for telling me that Shawn likes me, so if he goes out with you then I'll owe Shawn something. Easy peasy," she shrugs.

"Wow, that's smart," I compliment.

"I know," she laughs as we finish eating.
