When Kathleen Ryburg cleared up all the ashes of the letters, pouring the remnants away into the trash can, she decided she needed to write one more letter to Arlando. She sat at the table in her room and began.

Dear Arlando,

I don't hate you. I'm not angry. I'm not over it either, but I'm choosing not to do this anymore. I think all that needs to be said, has been said in my letters to you.

I'm writing to say, I won't be writing again. Even if you don't come back, which after seven years is very, very, very likely that you aren't, I'm going to be OK with that.

I will continue to watch our stars, though. The stars are beautiful, and so is what we had.

Goodbye, Arlando.

With love,
Kathleen Cassa.

P.S. This is day 2555, as of three hours ago.

She gave a small smile.

It wasn't a sad one.

Kathleen Ryburg wasn't sad.

She was at peace.
