Sixteen - Our girls can fight

I get that I'm overreacting, but everything I've known for 6 years could be changing. I'm afraid of change.

"It won't happen. I won't let it," she says. I nod before looking at the clock.

"We should probably get dressed. We just wasted ten minutes," I say, getting up and padding to my dress.

---

We finished putting on our dresses and jewelry five minutes ago. We're just waiting on the boys, and I'm nervous as fuck. My palms are sweaty, and my heart is beating quickly. I wish I still hated Shawn. My life would be so much easier.

"That's them," I say when I hear two laughs coming in through the door.

We walk downstairs to see Shawn and Aaron talking with their backs turned. Casey cleared her throat, gaining their attention. Damn, my brother is pretty hot in a suit. Shawn is too. Wow, they're sexy.

It's bad that I'm talking about my brother like this, isn't it? All well. He's hot. Sue me.

"Wow," Shawn breathes. "Y-You look... Beautiful."

"My little sister is growing up," Aaron coos.

I blush as Casey moves, so she's beside me instead of behind. The boys go breathless again as she blushes as well. I bet they have boners. Cue smirking emoji.

I'm not checking though. Ew. Unless it's Luke Hemmings. Another smirking emoji goes here.

"Shall we go," Aaron asks, not taking his eyes off of Casey.

"We shall," Casey says in a British accent as we leave the house.

Aaron locks the door behind him as we go into desperate cars. Casey and Aaron in one, and Shawn and I in another. If I survive this ride without embarrassing myself, I deserve a medal. You're going to get me one right?

"I wasn't lying, you know," Shawn says after a few minutes of driving.

"What do you mean?"

"You honestly look breathtaking. You are breathtaking," he clarifies.

"Oh," I blush. "Thank you."

"Don't thank me, Chey. You're so beautiful. It's one of the reasons I lo- I uh, really like you," he coughs.

We just started talking in a romantic way, and he almost said he loves me. Shawn slow your horses. I still need to dump guacamole on your head.

"I really like you too," I smile, reaching for his hand and grasping it in mine.

Okay, the butterflies in my stomach are really annoying. Like stop. Go fly to Casey or something.

The rest of the drive is silent, but it's a comfortable silence. It's one that doesn't need a melody, or any lyrics because it's so comfortable and perfect already.

Once we arrive, Shawn walks over to my door, and he opens it for me. I step out of the car, and I link my arm through his as we walk in. I see Max, and I wave although she doesn't wave back. I'll ask her about that later.

We walk inside, and we talk with a few friends before deciding to sit at a table with Casey and Aaron.

"Hey guys," Casey says as we take our seats.

"Hey," I smile.

"Did Max seem off to you," Casey asks.

"Yeah, I'll ask her about it later. It's probably not anything too serious," I wave it off.

"Okay," Casey shrugs.

We all converse with each other until All Around Me by Flyleaf comes on, and I start inside fangirling. I may or may not be obsessed with this song at the moment. I look at Shawn, silently begging him to go dance with me. He just laughs and shakes his head no.
