"I have arrived, and I am prepared to be bedazzled," she says as she walks very proper like to me and gracefully plops onto the ground. Now that's something you don't see everyday. Casey is never graceful.
"Bedazzled?"
I stifle a laugh. Wow, I love my best friend.
"Do my nails, you twerp," she says slouching. Ah, there's the Casey I know and love.
I take her hand and do my work. When I'm finished, Casey has white acrylic nails with a silver little jewel at the top, except for her wedding fingers which have nude colored diagonal lines and the rest is see through. It has more silver jewels then the others.
She let's them dry for a while as I blow dry my hair. I do a cute but easy hairstyle with some butterfly clips before moving onto Casey's hair. I blow dry her hair before doing tight curls and letting it fall loose. We then move onto make up.
We both settle with mostly natural make up other than Casey's lipgloss and my eyes. My eyes pop out more then they should if it were natural.
Considering the fact that we were talking and laughing while doing our makeup, we only have 30 minutes until the boys get here. Once I realize that, I start hyperventilating. I've never actually had a boy that I was actually interested in. I had little school girl crushes before but nothing like this. This is serious. Despite his player ways, and the fact that I cannot stand him most of the time, I actually see a future with him. I do. I honestly hope he doesn't break my heart. I wouldn't be able to live with it.
Oh yeah, back to me hyperventilating. I'm hyperventilating. Seriously. Not joking. Send help.
"Cheyenne, calm down," Casey says as she helps me to my bed, and I sit down.
"How about we blow off the boys, and we just take selfies all night since we look good," I rush. Yeah, I like that idea.
"Wait, why would you want to do that," she asks, confused.
"I actually like Shawn. I've hated him all these years, or I thought I did. I don't though. I really like him. I think I have for years, but I didn't want to like my brothers best friend. I guess I turned my love into hate instead of facing it without realizing what I was doing," I shrug.
"Cheyenne, you're Cheyenne Carpenter. You're a loner, but you act like you're a popular bitch when it comes to something you believe in. When those boys were picking on Layla on the bus, what did you do?"
Layla is my neighbor who is three years younger than me. Everyone on the bus bullies her since she's one of those people that will never leave the Peter Pan Effect. Well, I don't take well to that so...
"I stood up cussed them out for like 5 minutes straight, pulled one of them out of their seat, and I kicked him in the balls. I hit the other one in the head with his own shoe."
"Without taking the shoe off of his foot! What did you do when that guy in the mall flirted with you after he told his girlfriend you were an ugly slut and sent her to get something?"
"I played hard to get until she got back then I told him to kiss me. When the girlfriend walked up to us, I said he told me she was his sister."
"And how did you get over your last heartbreak?"
"I beat up Shawn. It was fun," I laugh.
"It'll be funner if he breaks your heart and you beat him up for it. Why are you so scared of tonight? You'll play everything cool, and Shawn will fall in love within two seconds," Casey says. "You got this, Chey Chey."
"Everything could change tonight though. Aaron and you are just friends, but it could change tonight. Shawn and I always bicker, and we usually hate each other. Tonight we could start to love each other; same with you and Aaron. What if we pair up, and everything is great until our hearts get broken. Our squad will be over. I know it wasn't the perfect squad, but it was the squad that was perfect for us."
