"Hey Luke could you come over to my house?" I ask through the phone.
"Sure. I'll be right over." He says before hanging up. It's the day before he leaves, and me and Luke haven't been that close these past 3 weeks. I can't blame him for being so distant, it just hurt a lot. So today I decided I would sing to him. I know it's kinda stupid, but he wanted to hear me sing, so I'm going to sing for him.
"Honey Luke's here." My mom yells from downstairs.
"I'm up here Luke!" I yell down, and a few seconds later a pair of blue eyes is in my doorway. "Hey." I say giving him a smile.
"Hi." He says smiling back. I can tell it's still a little awkward between us, but neither of us are letting it be a bother right now. "What's up?" He asks as he sits down in the chair that's at my desk.
"I want to sing to you. I know I said you'd never hear me sing, but it's your last day so I decided I would sing for you. Only because I love you." I say laughing a little and strumming my guitar.
"You never told me you played guitar." Luke says smiling.
"I never told you a lot of things." I say winking and laughing a little. He smiles and sits back in his chair as I start to play the cords.
A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

I don't wanna waste the weekend
If you don't love me pretend
A few more hours then it's time to go

As my train rolls down the east coast I wonder how you keep warm
It's too late to cry
Too broken to move on

And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me

It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven

Misplaced trust in old friends
Never counting regrets
By the grace of God I do not rest at all

And New England as the leaves change
The last excuse that I'll claim
I was a boy who loved a woman like a little girl

And still I can't let you be
Most nights I hardly sleep
Don't take what you don't need from me

It's just a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my...

Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore
No, no
Heaven doesn't seem far away

Heaven doesn't seem far away anymore
No, no
Heaven doesn't seem far away
Oh, oh

A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I was praying that you and me might end up together
It's like wishing for rain as I stand in the desert
But I'm holding you closer than most 'cause you are my heaven
You are my heaven

Once I finish Luke's jaw is dropped.
"What?" I ask laughing a little.
"That was, amazing!" Luke says as he throws his hands in the air.
"Thanks." I say laughing at him.
"No seriously. I think you should put a cover on YouTube!" He says as he grabs my laptop, and putting it in front of me on the bed.
"Maybe I'll think about it." I say as I close the laptop.
"Do it now. I want to be here to see you." He says smiling. I smile back and open the laptop, and go into YouTube.
"What should I sing?" I ask him and he starts to think.
"A 5sos song. Any 5sos song." He says and I nod my head.
"Okay I got it." I say and he nods his head.
"What song?" He asks as he gets up from the desk, so I can sit there.
"If you don't know." I say and he smiles faintly.
"Then let's do this." He says, and sets up my computer to were I'm comfortable while recording.
"Wow you're good at this." I say admiring his adjustments.
"This is how I started out babe." He says winking at me.
"I know, I was there while you recorded for the first time." I say winking back, and smiling at the memory.
"Oh yeah. And I'm here for you recording for the first time." He says as he pulls me into a hug, and kisses the top of my head. "Now I'll let you record." He says as he gets up, and gets out of frame. I take a deep breath and click record.
Tonight we're fading fast
I just wanna make this last
If I could say the things that I wanna say
I'd find a way to make you stay
I'd never let you get away
Catch you in all the games we've played

I strum my guitar, and let the lyrics spill out. Each word having meaning behind it.

So go ahead, rip my heart out
Show me what love's all about
Go ahead, rip my heart out
That's what love's all about

After the song is over, and I hit stop recording, Luke comes over to me and spins me around to where I am facing him. His lips just inches from mine, I can smell the mint gum he must have been chewing. His eyes flicker from my eyes to my lips a few times before crashing his soft pink lips on mine. The small innocent kiss turned into a heated make out session in just minutes.
"You should upload that." Luke says breaking apart and pointing to the video. I nod my head, but before I turn to the laptop, I admire his now red lips.
