Chapter 4: Bryce's Gift

"I love Christmas" sabi ko while we gathered near the fireplace.

"You love everything" sabay sabay na sabi ng mga kasama ko sa sala.

My parents sat on one couch, lolo sat to their opposite couch, like really far away from them-they are not still in good terms, and the boys sat on the carpet with me. Sa right ko si Bryce and sa left ko si Allen na nilalaro na naman yung mga aso ni lolo.

"This is so far the best Christmas I've ever had" sabi ko.

"Me too" sabi ni Nathaniel

"Me three" sabi ni Allen.

"You should come here every Christmas" sabi ni lolo and we looked at each other.

"Grandpa, they should also be with their families" sabi ko.

I can't be too selfish. I mean, oo nga't gusto ko silang makasama lagi sa Christmas pero, sabi ko nga, they should be with their families too.

"We will come here" sabi ni Bryce and I looked at him surprisingly.

"Oo nga," sabi ni Nathaniel na nagstretch, "I'd rather spent Christmas here than in our house" then nagyawn siya.

"Should we put that in writings?" Tanong ni lolo habang naglalabas ng pen and a notebook.

"No grandpa" sabi ko and he sighed. Ang hilig talaga niya sa contracts.

"Go to bed now kids" sabi ni mom and the boys stood up.

Tatayo sana ako but Bryce held my hand.

Stay.

He mouthed.

Why?

I mouthed and he shrugged tapos tumingin siya sa mga papaalis.

Oh! His gift! Yey!

So I nodded.

"Di kayo aakyat?" Tanong ni Kurt.

"I will just stay warm for a while" sabi ko and I grinned innocently at him tapos itinaas niya yung kilay niya.

"Eh ikaw?" Tanong niya kay Bryce pero di siya pinansin, "owwwkeyy" sabi niya at hinila siya ni Allen habang nagya yawn. Aww poor guy, naging baby sitter na siya ni Allen.

"Don't do something dirty ah" sabi ni Nathaniel na nasa gitna ng stairs and he winked at me.

"What dirty?" I asked

"Dirty, Lexa, dirty" sabi ni Jason at inakbayadan niya si Nathaniel, "tara na nga baby" sabi niya kay Nathaniel at niyakap siya ni Nathaniel.

"Akala ko ba.. Akala ko ba ikaw ang.. ikaw ang baby ni Jason? Or ni Nathaniel?" I asked Bryce and he chuckled.

"Good night kids" sabi ni lolo and he pushed Jason and Nathaniel na tumatawa at umakyat sila.

"Ano bang meron sa mga yun?" Tanong ko kay Bryce na nakatitig lang sa fireplace, the light illuminating his face makes him more handsome so I rested my chin sa knees ko while looking at him. Pwede kong gawin to whole night. Haha

"It's rude to stare" sabi niya and I giggled tapos tumingin siya sa akin.

"Sorry" sabi ko at tumingin ako sa fireplace then I adjusted my glasses.

"You look cuter in glasses" sabi niya.

"Psh, maliit na bagay" sabi ko, yup, nahahawa na ako kay Nathaniel.
