Alice sighed as she looked herself up and down in the full length mirror, her stylist smiling in the background. "You look great."
"I guess."
"No, Alice. You really do." That was the first and last thing Vik said about her outfit. She shot him a sad look.
She was wearing a light blue crop top and some black skinny jeans. It may seem normal to any other 21 year old girl, but Alice had always worn joggers and a Sidemen top. She'd never really wanted to wear anything else.
"C'mon Alice, you don't look terrible." Her manager sighed, standing up off the couch. "Now, let's go. We have to get you mic-ed up by nine."
Alice checked her watch, it was 8:45 in the morning, "Can't we wait, like, ten minutes? I'd like to hang out with my husband for a little before I go on."
"No, no. Let's go Alice Zerker."
"Fine." She grudgingly agreed before kissing Vik on the cheek and leaving the room.
"I'll be here when you get back, babe."
"Okay, Vikram."
"Now, your going to answer some simple questions for five minutes. It should be easy."
"If you say so, I've never been very good on TV." Alice lied, for all she knew, she could be wonderful. She'd never been on a TV screen in her life.
"Shut up, Alice. Just think of it like being on stage with those Side-whatever guys you like."
"The Sidemen?" Alice questioned, giggling.
"Yeah, them."
"But that's different, that's my family. I'm comfortable with them."
"Well, get comfortable with this audience. Your going to be on tour for a whole two months. You can't be afraid of going on stage." Sam stopped and spun Alice toward himself, looking her up and down. "Much different than the London girl I met on YouTube..."
"Thanks, buddy. Can we get this over with?" Alice gestured to the crowd of stage crew that was ready to mic her up and tell her what to do.
"Of course, be my guest." Sam moved out of the way so the team could fix her up.
"Good morning, Ms. Zerker."
"Oh, I'm married. Call me Mrs. Barn, or just Alice is fine-actually, yeah. Call me Alice."
"Okay... Alice... All you'll be doing is walking out onto the stage after the ladies have announced your arrival. It'll be easy." The lady spoke as she placed a microphone in her shirt.
"Got it. Thanks."
"Anytime, sugar." She winked before turning around and whispering to some sound techs. Alice couldn't quite hear what she was saying, though, so she turned back to Sam.
"Ready?"
"As I'll ever be." Alice smoothed her pants with her sweaty palms. This was her first American TV debut. There were probably millions of people watching.
"Now please welcome to the stage, pop sensation, Alice Zerker!"
"Shit." Alice whispered, walking out onto the stage. She knew when people did this, they usually smiled, so she did.
"Hey Alice!" The lady spoke.
"Hi!" Alice said in a cheerful tone.
"So how have you been?" She asked as Alice got comfortable in the chair.
"I've been fantastic, actually!"
"How's the tour been?"
"Well, actually I just got over the pond yesterday, and my show doesn't start until Saturday."
Alice talked for a good ten minutes, before her time limit was up. She had to admit, it was fun.
"Great job, Alice. You looked like a natural out there." Sam smiled as the same lady from before was takingher microphone off.
"Thanks, Sam, now can I see my husband or..?"
"Yeah, of course. We have one night here in California before we fly out to Florida. Fell free to do what ever you want with your husband!"
"Okay, thanks Sam."
"Anytime."
Alice made her way back to the dressing room. She smiled when she saw her lovely husband standing in the door way.
"Hey baby." She fell into his arms.
"Hey, babe." He replied, wrapping his arms around her torso. She smiled into his shoulder.
"Did I do a good job?"
"Of course you did. You're fantastic."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Your lying."
"Nope."
"Whatever." Alice giggled, rolling her eyes. She unwrapped herself from Vik as she grabbed her phone out of his back pocket.
"You touched my butt!" Vik cried, smiling.
"Sorry!" She laughed again, opening a text from Preston.
Preston;
You were great on GMA! Can't wait to surprise you in Florid- I mean see you again... Oops.
Alice;
Preston! Are you coming to Florida?!
Preston;
Yeah, of course! It's been almost a year since I've seen my favorite Alice! I've missed you... And your husband, of course.
Alice;
Well, I can't wait to see you.
Preston;
I can't wait to see you either!
Alice smiled at her phone before looking back at Vik. He was takin a picture of her.
Vikkstar123 @vikkstar123:
When your wife, @omgitsalicez would rather text that go back to the hotel... smh Alice...
Alice Zerker @omgitsalicez:
@vikkstar123 come on, I was only texting @TBNRFrags!
Preston @TBNRFrags:
@omgitsalicez @vikkstar123 don't bring me into this, Alice Emily.
Vik and Alice both laughed at Preston.
"Alright, we'll leave, babe." Alice slid her hand into his as they left the room.
"Goodbye Alice, see you tomorrow morning." Sam must have been standing outside the dressing room the whole time, he was leaning up against the wall with a clipboard in his hand.
"See-ya." Alice smiled and waved before turning back around to follow Vik out of the sound stage. They had a cab waiting.
"Where to?"
"The hotel, where we came from."
"Alright, Mrs. Zerker."
"Why does everyone call you Mrs. Zerker, your married!" Vik whispered.
"I don't know, ask my publicist." She giggled. He rolled his eyes. "Hey, don't do that."
"Your silly, kid."
"I know. Gives me good ratings."
"Shut up." Vik laughed, kissing her cheek.
"Mrs. Zerker, we've made it..." The driver interrupted, looking at their on the back mirror.
"Alright, thank you."
"Anytime, Mrs."
Alice stepped out of the car, Vik followed closely behind. Photographers, reporters, and news trucks waited for her as she stepped out. She slightly smiled, she was finally getting the recognition she'd deserved.
