Jessie's POV

"Dad, I know, I'm not a kid anymore," I said after I heard a list of my dad's rules, the numbers are countless. I know that he worries about me, but he's always overprotective over his children and especially over me.

"For me, the both of you will always be kids, and it's my duty to love and protect you as much as I can. Do you understand me, sweetie?" My dad shook me with his rough hands and smiled when I nodded, he then looked behind me.

"Janey? Remember to take care of your little brother," my dad told my older sister. She just groaned and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever."

Before he could say anything else, an announcement said that his plane was almost ready for take-off. He hugged me tightly and kissed me on the cheek, the same goes to my sister but she avoided the kiss successfully.

"I love both of you," he whispered and ran towards the entrance of the plane while he was still looking at us, he waved a goodbye before he stepped onto the plane.

We left the airport as soon as dad's plane had taken off. I let out a long sigh.

"Hmm, miss him already?" Janey teased me after she heard my sigh.

"No, it's just... I dunno," I replied. She chuckled and we entered the cab that was waiting outside for us.

"So what are we going to eat tonight, princess?" She pressed the word princess and it made me feel uncomfortable, but I ignored it. It wasn't the first time she called me that when my dad had business work abroad. I was thinking to cook some steak, but Janey cut my thinking off and showed me her phone.

"Hey princess, check out this guy."

"Stop calling me that," I replied, then I looked at her phone. Wow, a hot guy with a six-pack. Yeah, I know, I just called a guy hot. I'm gay, by the way. Back to the story, I waved my hand to reject the offer that my sister had given me. I don't know, but no matter how hot the guys are, I don't want to love somebody except my friends and family. I'm not being picky, it's just that there is something holding me back.

Janey rolled her eyes when she saw my rejection. "Oh come on, these are all the hot man on dating sites. If I were you, I would bite the hell out of their body."

"Then what are you waiting for?" I asked sarcastically.

"Ugh, they're GAY," she said with a duh-face, which made me giggle.

"There're plenty of straight guys out there, pick one," I said.

"Like that's going to happen easily, who likes a tomboy fuse with a punk, huh?" She said. I have to admit that she looks like a boy, "Besides, have you ever known a mirror in your life, bro? Your face is beautiful, it can shot a hundred of guys down out there, not to mention how sweet you are."

I let out a giggle and hugged her, my sister may seem harsh, but she's always kind to me. Hell, when I was still in college, she beated three guys who bullied me on her own and left without a scratch just to protect me. But compared to dad, she's still far behind. He's one of the strongest I have ever seen and he's ready to do whatever makes me feel safe and happy. Both of them are like my guardian angels, I'm so glad I have them and I love them with whole my heart. I still wonder why dad doesn't want to marry again, he's handsome, tough and still has the manly in him. I guess it is because of me, I sighed... I'm such a burden.

When we were at the supermarket, I took a shopping cart and began to take the things I needed. When I was choosing some vegetables, Janey told me to wait here while she went to grab some snacks. I nodded my head and continued to choose the right vegetables. After a while, I didn't see my sister anymore so I went to look for her when suddenly a gaze made me shiver and jump. I looked around, but no one was there. "It's that gaze again," I mumbled.

It started a week ago when I was in a coffee shop reading my book and waiting for my dad to pick me up. When I had seen my dad's car, I went out of the shop but then I had hit someone on the back since I was focusing on my book and not where I was going. I had almost fallen to the floor if a pair of huge hands hadn't caught me by my arms. The man looked very tall and muscular, almost like a giant. I had blushed so much when he kept staring at me with those dark eyes.

"Th-thanks," I had stuttered, nervously breaking the silence. I had found my balance back and quickly stepped out the door to get to my dad. I had jumped into the car without a word. That man had been so hot, I could still feel the blood boiling in my cheek. My dad had given me a confused look before he drove away.

I don't know if the cold scary gaze that has been following me for a week was his, but when he had stared at me in the coffee shop, his gaze was the opposite. It was warm and protective.

"Jessie, back on the ground now!" I shook my head to respond to her.

"Sorry for making you have to wait for so long, I ran into my ex. God, he's still so annoying as fuck!" She groaned and I just smiled.

Before Janey had become a tomboy, she was so gorgeous with her long hair and her outfits. Many boys wanted to be her boyfriend so badly, but my dad kicked all of their asses, although some lucky guys got passed my dad but were then kicked by my sister. She was glad that dad kicked almost all of their asses, since it was the reason she became a tomboy. And she loves it, no more crappy boys, except 'the one'. We continued to talk about her ex and her reaction made me laugh so hard. We paid for the food and then went back home.

After dinner, I went to my room and continued my unfinished drawing, but I couldn't seem to focus on it. The stare that the giant had given me, kept flying around in my head and the scary gaze made me feel so uncomfortable. I don't know if it's just my imagination or something else because whenever I feel that gaze again, I look around me, but nobody is ever there. And I admit it, it scares the hell out of me. I took of my glasses and rubbed my temples, trying to ease the stress. I decided to have a bath before I went to bed. I want to forget everything for a while. When I finished my bath, I heard my phone ringing. I immediately answered it.

"Hi dad," I smiled when I heard him sigh in comfort, glad he heard my voice.

"Hey sweetie, are you okay? How are you doing?" He asked concerned. God, it has just been about five or six hours since he left and he already called to check on me.

"I'm fine, dad. I can take care of myself. You don't have to worry about me so much and you have work t..."

"Stop it, Jessie. Can you let this old man do the thing he wants to do?" He raised his voice.

"S-sorry..." I mumbled.

"Sorry sweetie. It's just the work that makes me so stressed," I could hear the regret in his voice. "It's okay, dad, I'm going to bed so goodnight to you."

"Goodnight, sweetie. I love you," I could tell he was smiling when he said those three words. "I love you, dad," I replied.

I went to my bed, thinking about the man i bumped into. I wonder if I could meet him again someday..
