I had been incredibly nervous for my date with Riley.
It was okay though, because she was nervous too -- which didn't seem like Riley Davis at all. Riley seemed more like a girl who was tougher than most guys, but she apparantly, had a vulnerable side to her as well.
When I arrived to 'our' spot, (yes I was shamelessly calling it ours) she had been there already, playing with her old Gameboy. I chuckled at the sight of her. My chuckle called her attention and a bright smile had begun playing around her lips.
"Hey Spiderman," she had said teasingly, grinning and putting her Gameboy away in her Adventure Time backpack.
"Hey nerd," I said with an equal grin on my face. She had stuck her tongue out at me and had shaken her head. "Nerd and proud," she had replied.
"So, what are we going to do, Spiderman?" she had asked, walking towards me. She had been wearing a cookiemonster hoodie, and everything about her had screamed 'pop culture'. I loved it. Maybe that's why my name suited me so much.
"You'll see," I grinned, taking her hand and walking her towards my car.
Riley had been in for the greatest date in the entire universe.
