10. King Of All

"I of course came to help and so shall you both.. Including him," Emuila smiled as she looked at the door. Just as she said that Aaron walked in and looked at us confused. He looked better than before the day Jae had first came to us. That day I found out how much of a prick Daniel really was. "The Incubus..?," Jae asked his eyebrows lowered and arms folded. Emuila smiled and nodded at him, "Yes..he is very much needed." Aaron held his coffee in hand awkwardly glancing at me, "I'm sorry...what's going on here??" I swallowed, "You're going to have to help us with something very important." Aaron scoffed, "But..we have more important things like Advanced Calculus.." I was relieved to have patched things up a little with Aaron since these few awkward days we have had. He almost confessed something to me that probably would have ended our friendship. And he was acting a little immature and moody. "This is a little more important.. I'm afraid," I smiled awkwardly. Emuila then placed her hands together, "We have one more person to see.." She began to glow brightly and soon her brightness overflowed the room and it was all I could see. Suddenly she stopped glowing and I knew we were no longer in the house I lived in. There was a large room full of antique armor, weaponry, and pictures that were mostly covered and hanging on the walls. "Where are we??," I asked. Emuila looked around and smiled, "You're important.. Liam.. In fact all of you are even.." There was an echoed chuckle and suddenly he appeared from the balcony. Daniel. Jae growled, and was about to attack, but I placed my hand on his wrist and held him back. "Oohh..look who is trespassing. The losers and the witch..," Daniel smirked as he peered down at us. "What's he doing here??," I asked glaring at him. "I gathered you all here because you all have a common enemy..," Emuila explained. "Yeah..we are staring right at him..," Jae growled his hair staticing on ends as he bared his fangs at Daniel. "I'm just following the Queen of the Dark Fae's wishes," Daniel replied. "I don't even know much about this guy but I dislike him as well..for..other reasons," Aaron said quietly glancing at me. "He hates her too..don't you Daniel??," Emuila smiled. "What are you getting at Emuila..? Or should I call you by your real name??," Daniel chuckled. "I don't care what you call me..we are here not on my behalf but, on the next King of the Light and Dark Fae's behalf..," Emuila glanced at me. Yeah, this has to be some kind of joke. Me?? King?? "He can barely stay awake in History class and you want him to be King of our kind?," Aaron asked. "Right, I..think you're mistaken--," I started. Daniel burst out laughing as he made his way slowly down the stairs, "Are you kidding me?! WHY would I help him become King?" Jae looked at me, then Emuila, "She's always right she sees the future. And I support the idea of Liam being King of both Light and Dark." This is starting to be too much. "I..was trying to become mortal again and now that I have accepted this odd part of me you want to say I'll become King?!!," I asked. "The very people who can help you and can make sure it happens and also stop Wendy are here in this room..," Emuila explained as she walked around seeming like she was gliding on the floor with her bare feet in her usual all white sundress. "You all adore him..even Calcifer so it's more than likely to happen," she stated. "Wendy envies you Liam you attract more attention than she ever could without using your wolf," Emuila explained. "Who said I ever gave a fuck about him?! I'M GOING TO BE KING!!," Daniel growled. Jae tensed up and so did I as Daniel got close to Emuila as he looked like he would strike her down but she stood there like a delicate flower in front of a raging beast. She was calm, and elegant. "I thought you were the Queen of the Light Fae..," Aaron added. Emuila looked down at the floor, "I..am dying. This vessel I am using is dying." Daniel's eyes widened and his expression softened a little. There was an odd silence that swept across the room. "I'm a Goddess.. And this body is wearing down because I use so much of myself in it. It will die and I will no longer be able to wonder on Earth in the form that I please..," she said quietly. "Persephone...why didn't you tell us this sooner??," Daniel asked sternly. "Because.. It's not important what's important is how many I can assure protected under another's rule. You know how much I hated her.. I will not die until she is taken care of," Emuila sighed. "I don't think I'm ready for this..," I said nervously. "You are..I know you are," she placed her hands on my face gently. She felt so fragile, and I knew what she was saying about herself was true. "I love every living creature in this world..the list I can actually do is leave them in good hands." She walked past me her eyes were selling with tears and she sniffles a little, then smiled as she turned to us, "I'm going to go back to bed now. Good luck during The Choosing." She faded into a bright light. We were all left speechless for a while. Daniel slammed his fist down on the table angrily, "You evil witch.. You planned it all from the FUCKING beginning didn't you?" Jae smiled then bowed slightly to me, "I'll be happy to serve you, my King." Aaron chuckled, "Know what..you do have good leadership skills." He bowed slightly to me as well, "My King.." Daniel glared at them, then me. He walked slowly up to me and I swallowed hard adverting his gaze. He scoffed, "To think..you were just a useless little wolf before and now.." Daniel bowed slightly to me, "My King, we will serve for you in The Choosing." I glanced at everyone nervously then bit my lip, "Yeah..um..what's the Choosing??" They all stopped bowing and Daniel sighed rolling his eyes and folded his arms, "Are you fucking kidding me??" Aaron glared at him, "Give him a break, he is new to this.." Jae smiled, "It's where a challenger for the ruling of both Light and Dark Fae compete with those of his most trustworthy followers in a battle. It's similar to gladiators fighting in a ring for all to see. Light, and Dark." Aaron's eyes widened, "..I haven't trained for that yet. Didn't think I would be breaking the pact of being neutral to join this.." Daniel sighed, "You idiots can still sit this out and let me handle everything." Jae growled, "You're lucky you're on our side I should rip you apart for what you did to my love. My Nigel." Daniel smirked, "Like hell..little fox." I moved between them, "Listen, whatever you two had before whatever happened these past weeks and months it must end. This is..bigger than all of us. I intend of doing what must be done. Even if it does me my dream may come true and she could..possibly snap my neck and I die in agony." Aaron placed a hand on my shoulder, "Look at you already sounding diplomatic." Jae smiled, "No matter what, we have your back.." Daniel scoffed and shoved past us both to take a seat. "So..what's the plan..?," he asked as he sat. I blinked and shifted my eyes throughout the room, "What is this place again??" Daniel gestured his hands to the walls, "This is the castle for the Highness of Dark and Light Fae." There was spider webs and dust on most of the items there, "As you can see there hasn't been one for centuries.." I took a deep breath, "Well looks like we have a bit of training to do here until The Choosing.." Daniel nodded, "3 days exactly, in fact tomorrow is the Grand Banquet for the Dark and Light Fae. And if I know Emuila like I do..you're already known as a competitor in The Choosing so you're invited to Wendy's mansion where the banquet will be held." Aaron swallowed hard, "This is all sorta different for me.. I never acted with the Dark or Light or even against them.." Jae smiled, "In a way I have waited for something like this. I want to be involved in something good and great." I want to win against Wendy. Not for Calcifer. Not for Jae. Not for Aaron. Not for Daniel but for me.
