English pretty much flew by, we did a draft of our final piece, and I took some extra notes so when I tutor Nathaniel again, I can help him without being lost myself.

It was the start of fourth period, and Nathaniel was not here yet. Each minute or two, I look at my watch, It had only been ten minutes into the lesson and I was not okay with this. I hate science, I hate it even more when we are doing experiments, because that requires me to get up and actually move around, and seeing as Nathaniel my lab partner was not to be found, I had to do the work alone.

I get started on the work, we had to answer the questions before starting the experiment, and it was double science.

It was half an hour into the lesson. No one heard the sound of the door opening, but at the sound of the door closing we all turn around, it was Nathaniel, I feel a warm feeling in my stomach for a few seconds, I ignore it.

"Sorry." Nathaniel slurs slightly, he looked exhausted, rubbing his face with his hand, and ruffling his hair to look presentable, he walks over to the table when the teacher gives him a nod of acknowledgment.

"Hi." Nathaniel gives me a warm smile, as he takes a seat. The sun was directly facing to his face, he didn't even flinch, he sat there with his shoulders tense, and posture straight. The sun hit his eye, making them turn into a bright honey brown - almost a orange colour, making his boring eye's look striking, and his face pale.

"Hey, you look rough." I laugh lightly. He really did, he looked like he ran through a room filled with chickens flapping their feathers. He didn't reply, just smiled slightly.

"Here just copy my work later, lets go get the equipment's, and get started on this". I say with my words dragging, emphasising that I don't want to be here. He agrees and follows behind me to the back.

I have to tip toe to reach for the magnifying glass, almost falling off my balance, I catch myself before Nathaniel can, but he still reaches his hand out to hold me but I move and he lets his arm rest. He chuckles.

"You okay? Shall I hold it?"

"Why, don't you think I can hold it? And Yes I'm fine." I say sounding a little aggravated, I didn't know why, maybe it was because Nathaniel's un-explained absence got to me a little more than I expected. But I wasn't going to admit that.

"Chill, of course I know you can, but I was being a gentle men." He said tugging on his lips, laughing softly. He assumed it's because I thought he offended me, I let him believe that.

We both go back to our tables, he insists on getting the rest of the equipment, so I finally give in and let him, I be a good sport and answer his work instead of him wasting his time later filling it in, when he settles down, and see's I have done it for him, he smiles giddily, thanking me a million time, I smile back.

"So what happened to you?" I ask whilst writing up the results on a new piece of paper, we had finished doing the experiment.

He stops writing for a second, but carries on again, and shrugs. "I don't know what you mean." He says casually, or rather trying to sound casual.

I laugh gently. "I'm not blind Nate, I can see the purple bruises on your neck, and they are definitely not love bites!" I say with laughter in my voice.

He chuckles. "How do you know it isn't?" He winks.

"Well then it must have been a Football player who sucked that, because it looks pretty rough." I giggle. "Tell me what's up." I give a sincere face.

He looks at me, and then his paper, "Naah it was just some of the guys messing around." Nathaniel shakes it off like it didn't bother him, but I could see the anger in his eyes.

"What do you mean?" I ask, feeling slightly unsettled.

"The guys." He sighs taking a small breath, contemplating whether or not he should tell me. "They wasn't too happy about the fact I didn't go to the party, because half the people that said they would come didn't go, because they found out I was going, so it was a bust." Nathaniel bites his lips awkwardly, like he didn't know what do to next.

I feel anger rise up in my throat, I know he didn't go to the party because I didn't, and he didn't want me to feel left out, when I was chose not to go, not because I wasn't invited.

For a few moments, I was quiet, "Which guys?"

He had already set his eyes on his paper again, he looked up at me and flickered his eyes, he seemed a little surprised that I had asked. "Matty said he didn't have anything to do with it, but it was his friends who did it."

I was going to ask if he fought back, but when I saw his hands I already knew the answer. Light red circles formed on three of his knuckles, on top of a slightly dark purple shade which was under the red, it looked quite badly bruised. It must have been him verse a few guys.

"They're jerks." I say, not knowing what else to say. He chuckles lightly, and nods his head agreeing to what I was saying.

The day had come to an end, I sat on the picnic bench waiting for Cassie to come out, her drama classed always took longer than usual. I scroll through my Instagram page, since I have been here for a while now, and I have gained almost sixty followers, even if we never spoke they seemed to find me and follow me. Weird, but I didn't mind seeing the horrifying posts some people would post.

I feel a presence coming closer to me, I don't react, I carry on focusing my eyes on my eyes, I feel the presence take a seat near me, I still don't look because no fibre in my body cared for it. It could have not been Cassie, because she always texts me when she is out.

"Hey." A male voice says softly.

I pause. Slowly turning my head to the person, I discover its Matty. I start feeling nervous, bad nervous, a little intimated, why is he talking to me?

"Hi." I reply quite bluntly.

"I don't think we've met." He says, whilst coming closer, and putting his face lower, so it was on the same level as me.

"Uhm, nope I don't think we have?" I reply, trying to sound nice, but I'm sure I sounded a little rude, but I didn't care. This guy might have hurt Nathaniel.

He laughs. "Oh...kay... wanna come over to my house tonight, my parents are out?" He asks, smirking.

I laugh hysterically. "No." I laugh again, did he really just invite me to his house at night?

"Why? It would be fun." He objects, growling slightly.

"To do what? Bake cookies?" I laugh again, holding my hand to my belly, and a hand to my mouth to stop my laughter from escaping, but it was no use.

"I'll bake your cookies." He smirks. "You seem like a fun girl." He Winks. I laugh again getting up. He really didn't know who I was, I was muslim and I don't fool around with guys. Was he messing around with me, or serious? I don't know, I didn't wait to find out. I get up without saying another word and walk away. I hear him yell my name but I don't look back.

As I carry on walking I see Nathaniel standing besides the tree, as soon as I turn my head towards him, he ducks his head down and turns around walking off like he didn't just see me. What was that all about?
