the one with the smile that lasts for days,
weeks,
years.
until she gives up.
until she forgets,
and starts to cry,
her sobs bouncing off the walls of the dirty bathroom stalls,
breathing ragged,
hand shaking,
skin fading.
but then she stops.
and goes back,
pretending,
smiling.
but slowly,
torturously slowly,
breaking and ripping,
pulling away the pieces of herself to make her perfect.
