Chapter 12: Part I

"Now," are you ready to cooperate?" Zaro asks.

You and Gray are chained to the wall before the heart of Zaro's machine. You scream out once again as your senses are overwhelmed by pain. You had noticed that Gray was doing everything he could not to cry out before, but this time he couldn't hold back his scream.

"Gray," you can barely speak, but you are able to manage a whisper. He struggles to lift up his head.

The fire in his eyes has diminished slightly. You can tell though, through all the pain, he still hasn't given up.

Gray has been the one that you've clung to for hope this whole time, but you never stopped to think that maybe he needs you as much as you need him.

"Stop being so damn tough, will ya? Are you trying to make me feel weak?" You say while managing a smile.

Gray looks at you in disbelief, but soon you hear that wonderful, soft chuckle of his. At first it was the most annoying sound on earth, but after all this, it's the most beautiful. You smile at each other.

"Young love," Zaro mocked," how repulsive," he added, dropping the false tone. "Now are we ready to begin, or do you to need to hold hands?"

"Actually, I'd like to hold this off for a bit," just breathing is hard right now, but somehow you manage sarcasm.

Zaro gets closer, once again forcing pain on you.

"(F/n)!" Gray yells,"you bastard!" You are able to look up, and you flash him a wicked smile. You're not going down without a fight.

"I'm getting a little tired of this, why don't I just kill you already?"

Gray laughs. Actually laughs.

"Go ahead and try! But if you kill me you'll facing a lot worse than death! You picked a fight with the wrong guild! Kill me, and the rest of your life, you'll be living in fear, because Fairy Tail-GAAAHHHH!!!" Zaro didn't let him finish. You can tell this attack is much worse than the others.

"GRAY!!" You know it's too late, because this attack was meant to kill him. And it will.

He continues to yell. Then you start to feel it. As his energy is taken, so is yours. This really is the end, you think.

But then you hear it, that strange rumbling noise. It sounds almost like a drill. Zaro hears it too, without stopping he looks up at the sound. The ceiling begins to shake. Suddenly, a pink haired woman dressed as a maid popped out. Zaro stops.

"Who are you?" He barks, but then more people come from the ceiling. First Lucy, then Natsu and Happy, and even Wendy and Carla. But that wasn't all, after them came Cana, Romeo, Elfman, Lisanna, Mirajane, and even Erza! She had left on a job the day after you arrived. You couldn't believe it. They all came! When did Lucy and Natsu tell them? Magnolia is two days away by train!

Gray coughed.

"I told ...you," he could barely speak, the only things holding him up were the chains around him,"you don't ...want to ...mess with...Fairy Tail!"

Zaro looked like he could barely understand what was going on.

"Geez, Gray! You look like shit!" Natsu yelled.
