Soon enough you reached the exit door. It stood tall and heavy, marked with three keyholes. Without a word, Geum-ja turned to Jun-hee, gently handed her the baby.

Then she stepped forward and inserted each key, one by one, into the locks. You leaned back against the wall, your body aching, but the weight in your chest was heavier. Your thought was still with Hyun-ju.

He could have unlocked the door. He could've left.

But didn't.

Hyun-ju had the keys. he had the chance. But instead of saving Himself, he came for you, for all of you. The truth stayed heavy on your chest as the final lock clicked open.

But just as the final lock clicked, the door behind you slammed open. You all turned, startled, bracing for another fight. You quickly recognized him, Geum-ja's son.

He stood in the door way, breathing hard, gripping his knife. but he didn't move forward. His eyes locked on Geum-ja, and something in him broke.

He wasn't angry.

He was shaking.

"...mom?" He said, voice cracking.

Geum-ja froze, her breath catching, the baby stirred in Jun-hee's arm, which caught young-sik's attention.

Young-sik lowered his knife slightly, fear and disbelief written all over his face.

He hadn't expected this.

He didn't want this.

His gaze shifted landing on Jun-hee and the baby in her arm. But before he could take a step, Geum-ja moved quickly, positioning herself between them.

Protective. Unshaken.

His gaze flickered to you next.

You were still frozen, stuck in your own world, still seeing Hyun-ju's face, still feeling the weight of everything you'd lost. you didn't even realize he was looking at you.

Not until Geum-ja reached back and yanked you behind her. "No." She said firmly, her voice low and steady.

"Move." Young-sik replied, His tone cracking, unsure whether it was a threat or a plea.

But Geum-ja didn't budge.

Your vision slowly cleared, the world snapping back into place.

You looked down, finally registering the sharp pain on your side. Your hand pressed against the wound, when you pulled it back, it was covered on blood.

"Move." Young-sik repeated, his voice louder now. Desperate. Cracking.

Geum-ja stood her ground, unwavering. "No." She said quietly. "You can't do something like this, young-sik.

His eyes flickered, uncertain. He was torn, caught between the duty and the face of the woman who raised him. " I have too." He muttered, As if trying to convince himself.

But even as he said it...he didn't move.

As the tension thickened, your gaze drifted, just for a second. You noticed Jun-hee, her movement subtle but deliberate. One hand still cradling the baby, the other slowly creeping towards the door handle. Your eyes met. She didn't say a word.

You looked at her, really looked. Jun-hee's hand was inches from the door handle, her arms trembling ever so lightly. And in that moment, it hit you. She was about to run. To leave the woman who just stood between her and a blade. To escape while Geum-ja was shielding her.

Your stomach twisted. You didn't blame her, she had a baby in her arm, fear in her eyes, and a will to survive. But still...the betrayal hurt. Your eyes met again, And this time she looked away.

The two of them were crying now.

"I couldn't do it, mom." Young-sik sobbed, his voice shaking. "I couldn't kill anyone...I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die..."

Geum-ja's expression softened, her tears falling freely. She slowly reached down and guided the knife to her stomach. "Then stab me." Her voice trembling, but steady. I've lived long enough. Young-sik, just do it. If you kill me, then you, Y/N, Jun-hee, and her baby...you'll all live."

Young-sik hand shook as he gripped her shoulder. The knife trembling in his hand. "How can I do that to you, mom?" He whispered, breaking.

He looked like a child, lost, terrified, clinging to something already slipping away.

Watching them. Geum-ja and young-sik, tore something open inside you. Of everything she endured. Everything you lost.

Your chest tightened, and before you realized it, tears was slipping down your cheeks. You reached up to wipe them, and for a moment your fingers paused.

It reminded you of him.

Of Hyun-ju gently di

Wipping your tears when Yeom-mi died. His hand so careful, his eyes, so full if quiet strength.

The memory hit you like a wave, sudden, aching, warm. You lowered your hand, blinking through the sting. The ache on your chest deepen. You were so, so tired.

And he was gone.

Suddenly just as Jun-hee was about to leave the room. Young-sik moved. He shoved Geum-ja aside and rushed towards her, eyes locked onto the baby in her arms. He stopped in front of her, starting at the baby. Shaking, breath uneven.

The he raised his knife.

But before he could strike, Geum-ja was behind him.

Without a word, without a sound, she drove the hidden knife straight into his back.

He froze.

His body went stiff, the blade hurried deep. The knife slipped from his hand and clattering to the floor. He turned his head slowly, eyes wide with disbelief as he looked back at her.

"Mom..." Young-sik groaned, he knees buckling beneath him.

Geum-ja stood frozen, her hands shaking from the knife she had driven into her own son. Her body began to shake as the time hit zero.

"The game has ended." The woman's voice crackled through the speakers.

You survived.

But young-sik.

He collapsed to the floor with a heavy thud. Geum-ja dropped after him, cradling his face. "Young-sik..."

"Mom...I...I." His voice was barely a whisper.

She pulled him into her arm, her sobs finally breaking through. "I'm sorry." he whispered.

Your Heart broke at the sight.

Then the boots.

The guards stormed in, rifle raised aimed directly at young-sik. Geum-ja's head snapped up. "No!" She screamed.

The shots rang out.
