[Alli's POV]
We were in Mavis room when I received a text from Trish reminding me about my lunch meeting tomorrow at 12:00 o'clock.
"Love, I think kailangan natin bumyahe ng maaga bukas. May lunch meeting pala ako with the client."
I told Mavis without taking my eyes off my phone. She just came out of the bathroom with her pajamas on.
Hindi sya sumagot agad ngunit napansin kong natigilan ito kaya nilingon ko s'ya ng mabilis at muling itinuin ang pansin sa cellphone ko, checking some emails.
"Love? Did you just mistaken me for someone else hmm BA-BI?"
Napasinghap ako ng marinig ko ang madiin na tono ng pananalita ni Mavis.
Kaya mulit ko itong nilingon at nagpaliwanag.
"Oh, I'm sorry, no. It was really meant for you,hmm my bad. I'm really sorry." I bit my lower lip out of fear that Mavis might really take it seriously.
"I thought you like being called Babi?" She asked.
"I did, but —but that was before, like back in college."
"You don't like it now?" She asked me again. Now I sense her sadness.
"It's not like that." I said and I feel my voice cracked a little.
"Be honest with me, Moo."
I sighed heavily before I answered.
"Hmm,to be honest, earlier... it sounded weeeeird to me??" I said slowly trying not to hurt Mavis' feelings.
I paused to see her reaction first before I continue and then now she's showing me a very serious face while crossing her arms together.
"No offense Moo but hmmm it sounded different now that we are working professionals unlike before when we were just a student. And I don't think I can call you "babu" in public... I'll work it out, don't worry masasanay din ako, hmmm? Pasensya na."
Lumapit ako sakanya at hinimas ko ng marahan ang magkabilang braso nya para gumaan ng kaunti ang loob nya.
"Why are you sorry? I'm just asking. Whatever you say goes... Love." She said smoothly that made my heart melted.
"Really?!" I said happily and amused of what Mavis said.
She nodded nonchalantly, keeping her cool.
"No no pilit?" Paninigurado ko.
"Yeah, no biggie. Now go to sleep. May babasahin lang akong emails from Andy."
She's sitting against the headboard while reading something from her Laptop. I was on the left side of the bed, and she's on the other side.
Humiga na rin ako dahil nakakaramdam na ako ng pagka-antok at agad ding nakatulog.
[Mavis POV]
I chuckled when I noticed Alli was fast asleep already.
"Grabe parang wala pang two minutes nung nahiga ka, Love." I said barely a whisper.
Marahan akong bumaba ng kama para kumuha ng tubig nya sa baba. Para di na sya bumaba pa sakali mang magising sya ng alanganing oras.
Another hour passed, Alli moved.
Agad kong hinawakan ang kamay nya, I hope she's not having a nightmare.
"I'm here, Love." I said softly making sure my voice doesn't wake her up.
