[ALLIYAH's POV]
It's almost 1: 00 am at natigilan na ako sa pag reminisce ko sa college life nang magising na si Mavis.
She's moving very carefully, feeling the overall pain she gained from last night.
I could feel her pain everytime she groan. But I couldn't do anything but to watch my best friend suffer because of me.
I am not quite sure where the hesitation is coming from.
Is it still about my fear of touch or about the six year gap we had?
She also have a fever according to the nurse who check on her awhile ago. I am not sure if that is from her wounds or from the heavy rain yesterday.
"Mavis, please just stay still." I told her as I tried to stop her from moving and sitting up.
"A-ano pang ginagawa mo dito?"
"Nakapag-palit ka man lang ba ng damit mo?"
"Natuyuan ka na siguro noh?"
"How are you feeling after our hug kanina?"
"Did you take your medicine na ba?"
"Baka lagnatin ka Alli."
"Kumain ka na ba?"
"Halika na nga, ihahatid na kita pauwi."
Sunod-sunod n'yang tanong sa'kin at hindi pa nakuntento, she said to take me home to.
"You're joking right? Di ka pa nga makaupo ng maayos dahil d'yan sa katigasan ng ulo mo tapos ihahatid mo pa ko ngayon? Nag-iisip ka ba? Isipin mo yang sarili mo. Wag mo na kong alalahanin, I already have taken the shot for my hives kanina pa. So please, mag-pahinga ka na muna at makinig ka naman sakin, pwede?"
She's covering her ears with her hands as if it can help her not to hear me scolding her.
"Mavis Lim!" I called out her name much louder this time dahil umupo pa din sya.
Ang tigas talaga ng ulo nito.
"Oo na, oo na. Mag-iingat na po at makikinig na kay Alli. Cross my heart peksman mamata—"
Hindi ko na sya pinatapos pa at sinukluban ko na sya ng kumot sabay niyakap ng mahigpit.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOO! Sorry, still No Touching!"
It was sincere but I want to set aside the gap we had for the last six years So I greeted her as cheerful as I can.
"You really know how to make me silent noh?" She said.
I don't need to see her face but her tone change to a serious sound and I know that voice very well.
Sa halos araw- araw at tagal naming nagkasama noon kabisado na namin ang bawat kilos at tono ng pananalita ng bawat isa.
Kaya, inalis ko na ang kumot at bumungad sakin si Mavis na umaagos na ang mga luha.
"I knew it!"
"I'm sorry Moo, I wasn't there when—when you needed me the most." She sniffed and wipe her own tears.
"Gosh! I wanna do it, I want to wipe my bestfriends' tears away." I thought while staring at her still unable to do anything to comfort her.
"Ssshhh! I told you it's okay at di mo na kasalanan lahat ng nangyari sakin. Okay? Stop blaming yourself. Besides naiganti mo na ko kay Callum, OA mo na kanina. But kidding aside, you scared me back there. That's the first time I ever saw you being like that." I said worriedly.
