PART 39 | MAVIS' REAL IDENTITY

[MAV's POV]

"Sir, Good afternoon po, you called for me?"

"Sit down first, Mav." Mr. Arceta said calmly.

He handed me a folder with a case report inside- I can tell it's an old case. I read it right away.

"Sir, it's a car accident? But I'm a Corporate Lawyer."

"I need you to listen first."

I noticed the sudden shift of emotion from his face.

"You're familiar with the Tecson family, right?"

"Only Callum and Mr. Caleb, Sir. I've never met the Chairman and Callum's deceased mother."

"Okay, I'll walk you through."

He turned around and let out a deep sigh and grabbed something from his desk before speaking again.

"But you're aware that Caleb was adopted son and not the heir of their Company?" He asked me again.

"Yes. Callum have told me about it, Sir."His slow pacing is making me nervous.

He handed me a picture of a woman.

"That's Amari Tecson, the only legitimate child of the Chairman of Amari Holdings, Mr. Maverick Tecson.

She died in a car accident while running away from his father and Caleb.  She's with her husband that also died with her that day." He handed me another picture of a man, maybe that was the husband.

"The chairman ordered his adopted son Caleb to chase them and bring back Amari. But Caleb went wild and blinded by money and power and a stong desire for the inheritance.

He planned the assault very well, making it look like an accident. But one thing he never knew up until now is that Amari has a daughter. She hid her very well." He paused and breathe deep again and asked me a question.

"Does the name Amari Tecson ring a bell?"

"Yes Sir, she's a good lawyer too, you sent me her win cases to study before." He nodded then handed me another picture of three people, but it was framed and the other one there is Mr. Arceta.

"They were my bestfriends since college."

I understand now why grief is evident on his face, the case must be very personal to him.

"Before their "accident", Amari discovered Caleb was involved in Drug smuggling and commiting fraud, stealing money from their own Company. She reported it right away
to his father.

But her father didn't believe her, because Caleb then was very good at business. So she asked help directly from the police, with the help of our friend here who was a police officer back then.

The Chairman got mad because what Amari did put alot of chaos within their Company."

"Chairman abducted her own daughter right after we won one of our case just outside the supreme court.  He hid her somewhere far from the eyes of the public.

Fortunately we found her and rescued her. After that, these two, they eloped." He's pointing at Ms. Amari and the other man while nodding his head side to side then chuckled a little.

"Turns out, may relasyon pala sila at wala silang pinagsabihan ni isa, even me.  They were just too scared  the Chairman might not approve of them or do something hideous again."
