"True, it's not easy to be famous," Connor agreed, nodding his head, "But..." emphasizing something, Harris further remarked.

"Why does she choose to remain anonymous? I mean, I do respect her desire of keep being hidden but, this is what prompting them to follow her. Moreover, even though you're well-known in the business world, not many people really know what you look like either. Even though I understand that people hide for various reasons, but when you both are so good at what you do, then why do both of you prefer to stay out of the limelight, when that's what so many people crave?"

"I had initially thought you were here to inquire about the suspicious figures sneaking around the neighborhood, but it seems your interest lies more in my family's private matters," William implied, getting a little out of his calm looking demeanor.

Getting a look from his partner, Harris explained, "Oh, no, no it's just that, I, I love art, and I truly admire your wife's painting, and I was hoping to see her at the recent award ceremony, as I happen to be there, but like usual, her assistant attended in her place. That's why I may have gotten a little carried away, out of curiosity."

"Leave that aside, Mr. Jones," Connor gently suggested, "Instead, let's focus back on whether you noticed anything unusual," he continued, urging a more relevant line of inquiry.

"No, I really haven't," William simply denied answering it.

After a moment of silence when none of the detectives said anything other than glancing at each other William said, standing up from his sit, "If there's nothing more to ask then, you may leave."

But the detectives didn't come unprepared, as the next thing which came out of the mouth of Conner, stunned William.

William, being clearly agitated by the question, responded, trying to keep his calm, "Wait! What! Who said that? There isn't anything like that. That's totally absurd."

The detectives peered at each other as they expected this response from him, so their expressions didn't change much. "But we got this news from someone familiar with your family," Harris exclaimed.

"In that case, I'd like to know from whom you heard this?" William replied, his anxiousness and curiosity piqued.

"Normally, we don't tell anyone, but..." after a pause, Connor continued, "Someone who claims to be your son's acquaintance told us."

"And the person seemed quite sure about it," Harris pointed out.

"How could someone say something like that?" William remarked as he thought with more depth taking his seat back on the sofa, "When Eric doesn't have any idea about our past? He was too little to understand anything."

"I think someone must have made a prank call; there isn't anything like that," William added confidently, but his mind was still puzzled by this news.

By this time, William's growing unease was caught by the Connor's experienced eyes, and said, "Anyway, when we started working on that particular case, we discovered that your neighbors had reported a case three-four days prior, they had seen some strangers having some kind of tattoos on their hand, strolling around in your lane. Feeling threatened, they complained. But we couldn't get much information about them because the cameras were tempered, yet piecing each information, we found that those people been strolling here for more than just a week."

Hearing him, William faltered, he couldn't realize that the danger was nearing his family when he got a little distracted with other things.

"Are you still going to continue being totally unaware about everything..." Harris mentioned.
