Claire looked at Eric, frowning.

There, Jane felt disappointed that Claire had told him everything without discussing it with her and confided in Eric so easily. Rolling her eyes, she remarked, "Can't you keep things to yourself?"

Claire defended herself by saying, "Eric was too cunning and annoying; he had forced me to tell him everything."

"Don't you..."

Eric interrupted Jane mid-sentence by gripping her arm firmly and turning her to face him, a smirk playing on his lips.

Annoyed, Jane glared at him, "Look..."

But Eric cut her off once again, this time with his words, "Relax, I'm not going to spill it."

He paused as he now looked into her big brown orbs before leaning closer to her, whispering "You have more dirt against me than I have against you."

Eric has always had a special spot for Jane, but he never thought that she would reciprocate these feelings.

For Eric, Jane was the perfect girl. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also intelligent; a young woman whom everyone admired. In comparison to her, he felt like just a typical teenager whose wealth came from his father. Aside from having a charming personality that could captivate everyone but her, he felt he was insignificant in her presence.

Other than that, at times, he had also seen her, being cold towards him, which contributed to make him hide the fact of being attractive to her and tried to not think of her and kept himself busy with his girlfriends, but that hadn't worked up for him.

With a smirk still on his face, he announced, "Then, excuse me now, I have someone waiting for me"

"Wait! You going out to meet someone? It's her birthday. You shouldn't go anywhere today," Jane said, feeling an urge growing inside her, to stop him.

"You know me, I can't stay still at home when there's not much for me," Eric replied, walking backward and raising his hand casually.

"But..." Jane voiced.

"Don't worry my savior, I'll reach on time," he addressed, trying to sound reassuring and then he turned back to his path, giving a friendly wave as he strolled toward the driveway that meandered through the lively lawn, where the flowers danced softly in the wind.

Her emotional turmoil wavered like leaves caught in the breeze, as she stood there watching him stride away toward the driveway.

"He must have found another girl," Jane had this thought, when she and Claire started to stroll back inside the mansion, while Jane's eyes were still fixed on Eric, who rode in his red convertible car and went away.

There, Claire's gaze was fixed intently on Jane, studying her every reaction. As Eric sped away in the car, she noticed, a heavy sigh escaping Jane's lips, carrying the weight of her unspoken thoughts and emotions.

"He's gone, girl," Claire said, trying to console her.

"When will you tell him about your feelings?" she questions, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jane sighed again and expressed her thoughts without knowing, "I don't know. Maybe someday."

Her sudden confession came out as a surprise for Claire, "What did you say? So, you do have feelings for him? Wow, you finally confessed it today," Claire beamed with her eyes wide in surprise.

Her words caused Jane to stumble and lose her train of thought.

Where Claire's smirk widened into a teasing grin as she elaborated further, "I was just testing you, but it seems like you have a confession to make."
